  1. just as a note with mountain biking - every man and his dog has a mountain bike in the garage, the number of people doing trials, either just riding for fun or competing is massively lower. also I don't understand why people want to limit the bike or manufacturers, the bikes have improved and always will that's what people want. my dad is the same, he used to ride fast road bikes, now he is getting old he moans saying the bikes are getting too fast etc. I personally don't like the no stop rules, its much more fun for me to ride stopping and hopping which is what I practice etc. one bit that is annoying is that watching some of the videos on here at all the 5s at wtc level, then we ride a club trial and get fived straight away for any sort of stop as per the rules, why aren't they sticking to the rules. I practice at the same place a few btc riders practice and they are all of the same feeling, its not working. however it would be good to get a bit more of an insite into the importers views. I certainly don't profess to have the answers or even know the best way forward, I do think the wtc needs easing slightly, as with club trials I would say it only needs 1-2 sections to sort the winner out, the rest of the sections set accordingly to so the rest of the entrants aren't killing themselves.

    My Beta Rev3

nice bike I sold my 270 rev 3 last year to go for the evo 300. I loved my rev 3 though might see you up charltons some time, we are off up there tomorrow
  3. not totally sure, but I think the stepped washers are only on the 300 or the factory bikes. my 300 factory has stepped washers, my dads standard 250 has plain washers, both bikes are 2012 evos
  4. not cheap mind, I got a price for a few bits for my evo in the summer. went with the plastic look ones tbh
  5. the main reason i was asking is that my bike is immacualte apart from the front pipe, it has a dent and a few scratches on it, some of which were there when i bought it and some ive added. with the pipe being so big it seems to attract damage and also with a new one being around £350 its just too expensive. 2nd hand arrow or S3 pipes come up evry now and then with no marks on them etc, however if the performace of the bike is going to be significantly alrered i will just live with it. i even bought one of the carbon fibre covers for it, but it doesnt seem to fit too well so i havent put that on.
  6. has anyone tried the s3 or arrow front pipe that fits the existing silencer, preferably on a 2012 300. if so whats the differences etc? my bike is the factory 300 with the titanium front pipe, just wondered what differences the other pipes made?
  7. if you can take the shock off the bearing should have a number on it, any bearring shops should be able to get them for you.
  8. i personally wouldnt go for the annodised sump guard. my mate bought one for his 300, they fit too easily. i know that sounds daft but i presume they are supposed to be an integral part of the frame, the existing ones are a nightmare to get on as they pull everything in together. the red ones dont, even the rubber between the guard and the engine was slightly loose. probably ok especially if the bike never sees a rock, but i wouldnt put one on my bike.
  9. I bought a couple of carbon look bits - frame protectors, cdi protector, manifold cover etc all fairly cheap and look smart
  10. ive always put copper slip on - I do on every bolt I take out to be honest
  11. dan - did it make much difference turning the washers around? I put the springs back in on Saturday, rode it on sunday and it was much better - real noticeable difference. but - after riding for an hour I was losing control a bit and getting pins and needles in my wrist lol. ive got a 2 day trial this weekend and Im pretty sure I will struggle with it the way it is . not sure what to do - I might try turning the washers round see if that helps. there are some bosi clutch springs on haven web site - has anyone tried these? also was it worth doing the clutch plates on a factory 300? my dad did it on my rev3 270 but we haven't done the evo yet.
  12. I took 2 springs out of my 270 rev3 , made a massive difference to the clutch operation, was so soo much easier. im a fairly hard on my bike and never had and problems with it slipping. ive changed to a factory 300 however, the clutch was heavy on this so I did the mod, it was fine for a few weeks while I was getting used to the bike and not giving it big throttle, now I am tho I think its slipping top end in 3rd and 4th so will be putting them back in before next time out.
  13. im looking forward to this, ive never ridden it as yet but have been told how good it is by a few of the lads
  14. yeah im tempted to go for them ones

    2012 Evo Forks

Hi, I recently bought a 2012 Evo 300 Factory, absolutely love it, except the forks feel very soft. I have adjusted them on the top of the fork legs but it doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference. I have seen some different fork springs somewhere - has anyone tried anything other springs and what difference did they make? Or am I best just putting different oil in? My last bike was a 2006 rev 3 270 which also had a fairly soft front end but still much stiffer than the evo. Cheers
