  1. Hi Clark Mark & I go way back even before his tatoo days!!!! I road Sherco's for five years there a good bike ! Maybe Mark needs an 80, How about it Mark, I can get you one. I want get to ride a event untill after my exam the middle of Sept, so i'll see you guy's at Munster about noon i'll be the fireman that's half a sleep or was that half awake.

  2. O- Yes bring me the blessed bottles (24) please. And Beta bash away then we'll bash that black & blue bruised up heap you ride. O- what fun, my first trial this year. I'll send you an email.

  3. Mark What's wrong with the Beta ? Mine works great ! I'll have it at your two day in Sept if you would like to have a ride on it, so add some rocks to your testies and have a go. Or I could de-tune it for you my friend. How about a beer saturday night ?

  4. Hi Lane, I have a question wouldn't football, basketball, soccer and any other sport be to noisy also ? So what does that leave the kids to do play with there computers and not go out doors at all ? I feel sorry for all the people that can't ride on there own property anymore. :wall:

  5. Ishy helping the kid's is a great & thankless job, keep it up !

I know in Texas they have a youth fund to help get the kids to the Tenn. Youth Nats. The kids are the future of this small, but great sport we par take in.

Lane Thanks for the Fox Shocks you sent Mike back in the early 80's for my bike.

  6. My turn..... First, thanks Wayne for the kind words about the Octobertest event. The Octobertest event in Oklahoma was part of the Central Regional Series. This is the premier event in the series as represented by our turnout. We had 127 entry's on Saturday & 128 on Sunday with a two-day entry fee of $40. This fee also covered a dinner for riders and their families on Saturday evening after the event. This event rivaled a national event in participation and organization.

Our club did pay a pro class as mentioned by Wayne, the reason is to give the locals in Okla,Tx,Ks, the opportunity to witness the competitive level at which the pro's ride. This was done by having exhibition sections at the end of the day on Saturday that all participants and spectators were able to observe. The NEOTT (North Eastern Oklahoma Trials Team) solicited outside sponsorship to help offset the pro-rider purse. After everything was said and done (expenses, dinner, trophies, pro-purse) the club came out in the black. Not bad for a bunch of Okies huh? NEOTT was attempting to promote the sport of trials, by doing something different and paying a little bit back to the pro-riders who work very hard for an amateur sport where there isn't any $$. Personally, I think it was a success! I'd like to thank Mike McCabe for helping this 'Little Johnny' out some 20 years ago.

I'm not saying this is the future of trials, paying pro-riders to show up and ride local events. But we have to start somewhere to promote the sport. This worked for us the last couple of years, will it work in the future...who knows, but at least we are making an effort to grow the sport and get people excited about it by showing the the 'oooh..ahhs' that can exist. If one 'little johnny' is encouraged at every event, then there is the future my friends.

  7. The V-Force reeds for the beta & sherco are the same so a good dealer should be able to get them for you. If you need the V- Force part # I can get it off the box tomorrow when I get off work. I have used the on my 04 & 05 beta with good results.

  8. I have had to replace the gasket on a few bikes. The best luck I have had is to clean both surfaces of the cases with contact cleaner then spread a thin layer of silicone on both sides of a new gasket (the one without the blue stripe) and install carefully. If the gasket has the blue silicone stripe I just clean both cases with contact cleaner and install the new gasket.

Works for me. You are not alone with having to replace this gasket.

  9. Hats off to the guys in Texas for a great event !! Lots of parking, great food from the Mizells to help the youth kids & well marked loop. Didn't mind the cow paddies, thats just part of Texas. :D Two years ago we had lots of rain if I remember, this year we were hoping for some.

Thanks you Texas for putting on a great event !

Hay Mark sorry to have missed the demo, next time I am down you can show me what Ryan did on your wifes 125, just this time you have to ride the section. I'll spot for you.

  10. Have your dealer get a rebuild kit for your clutch master cylinder. It's easy to install.

I'm shotting from the hip here.

    1. Take the lever off

    2. Take the master cylinder off the handle bar, hold it up right- so you don't drain the fluid.

    3. Take the rubber boot off you will see a circlip- remove & install the new parts.

    4.Re- install in reverse order.

    5. Pull the cap off the master cylinder, add fluid, tap the clutch lever back a few times this should remove any air.

    6. Smile :D and enjoy your Beta

If I missed something i'm sure someone will chime in.

  11. A club member here had a pinging problem and when I looked at it, it was something simple. He was running vent tubes and they were clouged at the ends with chain lube and dirt. Once cleared the bike ran fine again.

  12. Hi Clark, Yes that was me with the new 05 270 last weekend. I installed a set of V-Force reeds last night & left the reed spacer in, did the carb mods.

SMOOOOOTH in the drive. Can't wait to practice with it to see how really works. Will also try it without the spacer.

  13. Wayne , I agree same rules same classes would help. I don't want to get started on that , I type to slow. A long, long time ago we used a point system here locally for moving up. I don't think money would be the answer for all classes, just the pro class. Maybe it would allow some of the pro's to make enough money to support there interest. Where they could ride 10-20 events across the U.S. We (NEOTT) set an example here at the Oklahoma central region event. Let others follow !!

  14. Your welcome. Nice to meet you too Sting32. No, I didn't ride the exhibition sections. But I do ride the nationals and have an idea of what they can ride. I just want to get a point or two from the pro's and make it so they can put on a show for the crowd. Hope you liked the show ! See ya at the AVTA. Those who missed the event, missed a good one.
