  1. Bugger! Better get the lawn mower out a bit sharpish.
  2. sounds to me like it has some muck/swarf in the carb. If it ran ok at first and runs ok with the other carb, it can only be a blockage inside the new carb. Just because its new does not mean its not got some swarf inside it, or muck from the tank. This could also exlpain the needle sticking problem you first had. I would strip the carb, give it a good blow out and refit it.
  3. I did a speed trial years ago. It was set out like a normal trial, slightly more open. You walked all the sections before the start and as soon as you left the start line the clock was on. You rode the sections as fast as possable, no stopping between sections. You lost marks for dabs out of section etc. Its a bit like an observed enduro. Hard work on a side car.

    Brake Pistons

If you don't have access to compressed air, remove the caliper and pads, leave the brake hose connected. Pump the piston out, clean up, replace seals, rebuild.
  5. The fork tubes on my 2000 TXT 280 are bent. The tube has a dent in it, so I suspect not repairable. Does anyone know if replacement tubes are available? I have looked on the Gas Gas parts list, but could not see them listed.
  6. Not 100% sure, but the seals in every master cylinder i have ever seen are lip type seals, not O rings. I agree with the other guys about the adjustment, back it off and bleed the system. A trick i use on brakes is after bleeding the system, tie the lever back to the bar and leave over night. This allows any air to rise up the pipe and out the top of the resivour. Should work on the clutch. A link i lifted from another post http://www.jkhirst.co.uk/acatalog/Brake_Levers.html shows the type of seals fitted.
  7. Used a rack to carry a trials side car outfit on the back of a Vauxhall Astra Max. It was used most weekends for about two years, and travelled all over the country. We used to secure a strap to the roof bars, and hang the chair over the rear of the van. Never had a problem and the main advantage is that you can drive at higher speed A trailer drops your speed down if you stick to the legal speed limit.
