...and Pat became 3rd. And despite the weather discussion it was nice and sunny on sunday!

    Congrats to Pat.

    Hey FanticMatze,

I bet when you returned to Germany you thought you would not see any more crazy American trials riders for a long time.

    ;):D

    She sounds hot.....

I would ask her what the best bike of all time was.... After she does her research and answers SHERCO then I would run right out and buy her a ring, combine accounts (the one with the winning lottery wingings in it of course)(not the bike fund, we need to keep that one a secret), rent a uhaul so we could move and live in the country on thirty thousand acres of untarnished trials property (you know the kind of stuff that the farmers don't want)....

Yea Biff you are so correct. that would be a dream come true ;)

    Can I ride Beginner class?

I highly doubt you can ride much above the junior class....

Bring on the SEASON!!! i am stoked.

Hey i have not been paying any attention. The release form that i had noterized, blood drawn for, sealed in a circoficus, then sent out to ama.... Do i need to get anything done before your event Sam?

    --Biff

Thought I should make the huge leap and go for an extreme challenge of my riding abilities this year.

    Hey Sam,

I kinda have not sent that annual release form thingy yet

My AMA membership is current. Will I still be able to ride. Maybe just sign more papers at the event to cover the realease form?

  4. I am not sure if this is a "taboo" subject for TC but here goes.

(Andy will let me know if this violates da rules, if it does just delete it on sight  )

I am looking for anyone in the US who has recently purchased a ty80 who would like to divulge the price they paid and the condition of the bike.

Reason is I have a ty80 that I am considering selling.

It was repainted red by previous owner.

    Needs crank bearings and seals

    Needs fork seals.

Think it is 74 or 75.

Everything else in good working order.

    I also have a 1971 JT1 mini Enduro.

    needs gas tank refurbished

    needs front sprocket.

    cables are a little "loose"

Pour gas and oil mix in carb and it runs good.

    Thanks for any help.

I'll just add a question to the sign-up that is Trials related and only a trials person would know the answer to

Like if you pass the marker for Pipers, where will you end up

Up s*** creek without a new tire?

  6. I did weld some bracing on my skid plate mounts but at the time the entire frame was completely empty. During the winter with all the other stuff I did to it.

I am also guilty of clamping the ground of my wire feeder to the foot peg and then doing a quick weld of the crack on my foot peg mount.

so on one hand I am Mr. ultra careful but on the other hand I am a Doofus. :hyper:

    I got multiple personalities. :D

  7. Sam Posted Today, 10:50 AM

Sorry for the slow reply, but I've been building sections.

Steep hill sides, Logs, Logs, Logs, and slick rubber tires, sandy loose soil, gooey mud, Advance will have some big ride ups, but not extreme.

OH Yea sure, everything I don't know how to ride...............At least with the "easy 1 mile loop" I will have plenty of opportunity to use my new "highway pegs"

    Thanks Sam

I know you will have a spectacular event.

    firstgear Posted Today, 11:52 AM

Thanks for the tips Sam.. I think I'll switch to the studded ice racing tire for the rear, it should hook up well on the big tires and mud sections...

I am sure the event will be a great time for all. Heck if all goes well you may even have another snow storm hit just in time

Zippy...What's this "practice" you speak of?

I agree should be a great time, I have been looking forward to this for months. Even if it was 1 section with 1 log I would have a great time and a few 5's.

Practice...............Looking at Sherco and thinking man I really should put down this Mt. Dew and Doughnut and start that thing.

Yeah, i was told the same thing!

I think they mean removing the stator coils as well as the CDI................not sure on this, but better to be on the safe side I suppose.

what if someone just unhooked the ground wire. would this isolate the electics enough?

Just thinking quick easy and lazy

  9. I am getting really excited about The MOTA riding season to begin. But I need to practice, So to narrow down my "training".

I assume the first one is gonna be muddy, spring gotta love it.

    Sam,

What type of terrain does your club have?

    Hills?

    Flat land?

    Tight turns?

    "Stadium" type sections?

OH yea and how much snow you got right now?

  10. The tang was a little fishy smelling but curiously tasted like chicken.

but if you are sampling the tang and get some of that taint, you got an overbite man.

Many thanks to NASA for giving us "Tang"

    and velcro.

  11. biffsgasgas Posted Today, 06:22 PM

Thanks for fixing kips bike guys! Now we can go riding tomorrow!!!! should be a balmy 30 degrees and possible snow. Sweeetttttt.

Little did you all know he acutally eats his cereal out of his float bowl and his diswasher is broken...

    --Biff

Gotta have my wheaties, and the float bowl is better than the toilet bowl.

..........dishwasher is broken??? Dude there ain't nothing wrong with the wife. :hyper:

As far as my float height.

    Took carb put upside down.

    Looked at arms (tangs)

    they was pointing way down.

Did not worry about measuring (right now)

carefully bent both arms so they are parellel with Float bowl sealing surface.

Now I measured (super high tech ruler with cm and mm on it)

Got about 17 mm at top of arms. Now this is not tottally accurrate way of measuring so could be 18 or 18.5 or ????

put everything back together started bike

    rode around yard

shut it off and restarted right away.....1 kick COOL

    ride around some more.

park it go in house talk to dishwasher.....I mean wife.

go back outside after approx. 10 mins.

    restart bike ..........1 kick SSSWWWEEEEETTTT!!!

    Thanks everyone.

Now I can go riding with that crazy guy Biff.

    Biff tells me:

"you can make it... more gas" Crash "HHmmm you better try again"

  12. Ham2

    Thanks for the explanation,

So it boils down to just give the tangs a slight tweek so that the needle does not open quite as far. This way it won't get cocked over in the bore. Think it makes sense. will give it a go later today methinks.

  13. Thanks for the info guys,

I may be a little thick :gay: (well maybe a lot depends on who you talk to)

Let me get this straight so I am measuring correctly.

Carb on bench up side down.

    Carb is level.

Measure up from float bowl gasket surface to the arms that the floats contact.

now this is where it gets fuzzy for me.

Do I measure right where the floats contact the arms or where the armature contacts the valve?

(the piece is a "step" design where the floats touch and the valve touch are at different heights.)

Obviously the float arms move up and down.

At what position do I want to have the arms so that I get 18.5mm?

    Arms level?

Arms at the point where the "feed valve" is just closed?

Arms at the point where the little spring in the stopper part of valve is fully compressed?

Again I would like to say thank you for your help.
