  1. Dear Graham Re: Carb advise. Communication is the key to the success of most things, this was not forthcoming in my quest, and in one case I was given "incorrect advice" (YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) I resolved this without help from anybody. I offered a free link to your buddy site but he got nasty just like you! are you the same person ? Regards Rory
  2. Go Plastic ! Currently on eBay UK (Item number: 290300573682) Old 80's plastic tanks will have scratches and yellowing but no "Rust" If you get it sell your old one I bet you will get good money for it. To restore a plastic tank Sand out scratches with med paper finish with xx fine wet dry paper and polish with some type of wax will look like new. you will need good decals to stick to plastic due to petrol seeping through.
  3. I'm doing good with BPR6EIX No blown pistons yet runs well
  4. I have just done a re-bore and am going to use a TRI-Z piston they look the same. The only difference I can notice is slightly larger port holes on the piston might run a little richer. I don't think the back of the piston needs cutting looks the same size.
  5. Try running as rich as possible without fouling the plug. I changed the carb to a PWK28 as there are so many available jets. They bolt straight on but the air screw and the idle screw are on the exhaust side which is a pain setting up a slim screwdriver might fit but I kept taking the carb off to reset it took hours to get it to run correctly. Now I have " No Pinging" or fouling plugs. http://www.iol.ie/~link/motorcycle/trials.htm
  6. Here is my setup which works for me so far. 3.5 Slide JJH needle in on the second clip from the bottom. Jetting I used a 38 Slow 115 Main / Air mixture screw 1/2 turn out. no more pinging !!

  9. Thanks for that info!!! Would say there are not many around ..
  10. Hi ! Anyone ever fit an alloy swingarm wheel & Disc to a TY mono from another bike, it seems it would be a great mod. The early gas-gas look similar ? Mine is a drum brake 84-87 TY250 Mono red frame. With a normal pinging motor ....PWK28 on the way from an yz85
  11. I herd some where an 89 CR125 reeds do the trick ? Any body agree ?

  13. Would love to know how one could get a gasgas brake caliper to fit on the drum fork leg of a TY350 ??
  14. Hi petrol heads ! This is kinda a question. I have read here & else where that removing d head gasket help d squish & Reduce pinging ? Surly it would be better to just skim the head the thickness of the gasket. wouldn't that have the same results ?? Anybody know where to get jets for these Teikei carb ?
