  1. Hello all, can any one tell what toque the cylinder head screws should be tighten to on a 280 Pro, I am sure I read some were it is 18 lbs. But my local mechanic recons that to high for light alloy,any ideas.....steve
  2. Hello, can any one recommend any thing to de coke an exhaust, the Header/down pipe of my 280 in choked with carbon, i can scrap a lot any with a scrrew driver but need some thing to reach round the bend. Thanks Steve

Hello all Has any one had to buy the dc converter which fits between the fan and the thermastat its a small inch square black box that boost the power to run the fan, I think mines bust and may need a new one . I would just like to know what kind of money i am looking at, saturday aftet noon and gasgas uk is shut
  7. Whats the best way to strap your bike down when using a trailer, what are the best parts of the bike to strap from/to . every time I go out the bike ends up on a slant and I have to re tie in down. Thanks for any suggestions
  8. Rebuillt my sons 2000 TXT 280 top end and just need to torque down the head and barrel can any one give the correct values . I can't remeber were but I am sure I read 18 lbs for the head but that sounds a lot for a 6 mm bolt in to ally. Thanks for any help you can give.

  12. Hello all Pulled the top end of my son's rattley 280 TXT and it's badly worn, going to pop it off to Langcourts next week for a replating. I was having a quick look at the con rod and it has no play up and down but a bit left to right, any body had a crank rebuild? Can it be done at home or do the bearings have to be pressed in, how much are new crank bearings and seals here in the UK. Any info welcome

    My Pro says PRO 03 on the tank and says TXXI on the radiator cowl Steve

My son recently got a 2000 txt 280, we are having a bit of a problem with the air box, we think some kind of mud shield /flap could be missing from the top of the air box where it meets the rear guard, on the 2000 bike the air intake is on top of the air box and there is a large gap between the rear guard and the top of air box, as mud/water from the rear wheel hits the mud guard it runs right down on to the air box filling the air box with crap with in 5 minuets, we have been gaffer taping the gap every time we go out and this works fine, but the tape falls off when you jet wash, I rang Gasgas motos at Buxton and they sent me the wider mud flap as used on the pro, but this cant be right because if I stick it to the air box and to the rear guard I would not be able to get the rear guard off with out wrecking the flap and at
