  1. Thanks for your reply PHB but my point was why does the rule not say body &/or machine and also make reference to stopping, then it would be clear. Yet again ACU, another chance has been missed to get rid of ambiguities. The boundary rule you quoted is a different matter and surely refers to a riders front wheel passing a marker on the right hand side, not the LHS as I suggested.
  2. The definition of 'footing' includes when a rider benefits from any part of his body leaning on an obstacle without stopping the progress of the machine. Q1. What if part of the machine (eg. handlebar) 'leans' on an obstacle - is this ok? Q2. What if the machine stops - ie. can a rider stop and lean against a tree for a breather (engine running & both hands on bars) without suffering a penalty now that the stop & balance rule has been changed or have I missed something. Regarding a previous posting about limits of the section, the rule states the machine must stay within the intended limits of the section. This of course is open to differences of opinion but an experienced observer should be able to sort this out on the day if the flagging is inadequate. Alternatively, a simple rule of thumb would be to allow the front wheel to cross the imaginary straight line between markers but not the rear wheel - this would ensure that at least part of the machine stayed within the intended limits.
  3. 08 Beta 125 stolen last week near Wakefield. Someone possibly saw it being loaded into a van so could end up anywhere ? Keep an eye out for it at dealers, trials & Flappit near Keighley. Standard trim but no stickers on rear white guard & carbon fibre sticky stuff on fork legs, silencer & airbox. If seen, phone Chris on 01924 277428.
  4. Sorry no photo but word of warning - if you widen it too much it will get in the way of your boots. Mine was widened on the offside only and gives approx. 10mm gap between arm & tyre.
  5. Only just joined so a bit late with this reply. I fell for this one but found out they wouldn't grip - they are probably the cross ply variety which I didn't know even existed. Get rid.
  6. Slacken cable or disconnect to give loads of free play. Slacken adjuster on end of clutch and unscrew. Screw in slowly until resistance is felt then slacken of quarter of a turn - tighten locknut. Adjust cable to leave a small amount of freeplay.
