  2. Hi Jack

Ive the same bike and have had the same problem. the fault is a worn gear selector.

You will need to remove the clutch casing off and you can see a flat plate that hooks onto the gear selector pins.

Gas gas do have thease parts or you can reshape the plate

    Hope this helps

  3. Hi There

Can anybody help. I have broken my kickstart shaft on my JT35 and now need to convert it from a 16 mm to a 18 mm. Has anyone done this conversion - if so all information would be much appreciated.

    Information required:

    1. The dia of the hole I need to enlarge in the outer casing to accept the new seal and bush

    2. The item numbers for the new seal and the new shaft bush

Finally will any kickstart arm now fit the 18 mm spline shaft.

    Thank in advance

  4. Like Pete says, a small amount of "float" is correct as it allows the disk

to align in the pads when they contract. Even if the disk is a solid mount,

like most rear disks, if you rock the bike forward and backward with the brake

applied lightly, you will detect a small amount of movement and that is the pads moving

slightly in the caliper housing. The front does the same thing.

  5. Hi there

Removed clutch and found selector claws worn on one side.

If i move the gear selector it will go into all gears.

Next can i weld this up or do i need a new one.

can i replace it without spliting the engine? ie pull out shaft and no bits in side fall out?

    regards

  6. Don't ride it until you pull the drain plug and check for gear teeth particles. It might be as simple as a bent shift fork or as bad as a broken gear. There could be a problem with the shift mechanism but I would advise not to even start the engine until you find out what's wrong. A broken gear could cause VERY expensive damage.

    Thanks Jon

Will strip down first thing tomorrow and have a look.

    big thanks
