  1. All I can do is apologise for this stupid forum posting.......I made a genuine attempt to get a ride in the 2014 ssdt....... The jokes and bad humour have done nothing to help my chances in the ballot stage. I can only apologise for the actions of others which was out of my control. I did not ask for this posting subject and am embarrassed about the whole thing.....for once I wish TC editorial had pulled it in the first instance. Apologies Gary b
  2. Apologies for this post....it is not true as the Ssdt ballot has not been made. Mr Wobbler is incorrect in his facts..... Gary Bingley has posted an entry which has been confirmed as one of the several who are hopeful of a confirmation via the ballot later in December . Apologies . As a previous SSDT competitor I fully respect the ballot process. Best regards GB There are 'menace' publishers operating on the internet....''Wobbler' could be one?
  3. Those photographs are fantastic..... They really reflect the atmosphere and the brilliant standard of riding. I have worked with John Kerwin and Graham Jarvis on both events at Nord Vue in 2009 & 2012 and the amount of work and investment that goes in behind the scenes is mind blowing. .... A real team effort and to be fair to John he has put a lot on the line to make a 2012 World Round happen... , As main sponsor of the event we are delighted with the feedback from riders, spectators and the authorities.... And we will be back in 2013.... For 2 days again hopefully. As a life long rider and fan of the sport it is great to see a World Round attracting a big crowd and sections that take plenty of marks off the best rider on the planet.... A great spectacle. And hopefully a bigger and better show in 2013. on behalf of Lloyd Group I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend at Nord Vue and we look forward to supporting the event next year ... All the best Gary Bingley.
  4. It is now confirmed that the Alan Trophy hosted by Cumberland County MCC will be run 'OFF-ROAD' 100%. The Trial starts at Newbiggin village 6 miles from Brampton. The format of the trial is similar to recent years with 2 laps of approx 9 miles and 22 sections per lap. The main Novogar route will be supplemented by a 50/50 route missing out the toughest parts of the 'bigger' sections. Entries close Tuesday 2nd June so hurry up and ring Alan Stewart on 01228 526858. For Any willing observers please ring Gary Bingley on 07968 845010 and if you can bring a bike all the better.
  5. Title sponsor Lloyd Motor group and haulage giant Eddie Stobart have announced it as 'unlikely' that they will continue to support World Trials at Nord Vue despite the perceived success of the World Trial GP at the Carlisle venue. The venue has an uncertain future and the two local companies seem likely to focus on World Rally in the case of Stobart and 'Local events' as far as Lloyd group are concerned. 'Due to a lack of opportunity to hold World class Trials at Nord vue in the forseeable future we need to look at other opportunities to promote our business' a spokesman commented. ' Nord Vue was a great success but it's a shame there will be no repeat in the next few years' he continued.
  6. Cumberland County MCC host the 6th round of the Novogar series on Sunday 7th June at Newbiggin near Brampton Cumbria. The Alan Trophy trial is also a round of the National over 40 championship. 2009 will be the first time that a 50/50 route will be introduced aimed at increasing the entry numbers and should appeal to competent Clubman riders. The natural streams, rocks and banks which normally feature in the 2 x ten mile laps of 22 sections will now have an alternative route by-passing the biggest steps and waterfalls. It is also thre intention to run the trial without roadwork.( Subject to confirmation) Entries will remain open until Tuesday 2nd June so ring Event Secretary Alan Stewart (01228 526858) or Download a form from the ACU website and send it in. Gary Bingley will again be Clerk of the Course and will answer any questions on 07968 845010. Please contact Gary if you would like to volunteer as an Observer as your help would be very welcome indeed. The Alan is a good traditional trial with great natural sections, a good lap, great scenery and should not be missed.

  8. The weekend did ok financially...A better week weatherwise would have put 500 on the gate which would have helped significantly. If all the time spent by all the volunteers was charged for then it would not be viable but there again it wasn't done as a major moneyspinner...! It is satisfying that the riders, FIM and Spectators have given very posative feedback which is fantastic so given that the sections will need tweaks as opposed to a major re-build and given that many lessons have been learnt ...then yes, we would have another go and we would be keen to make it just that little bit bigger and better....but opportunities to run World level events don't come around too often!
  9. Good Feedback from lots of people and It's great that you all enjoyed the weekend... Maybe we will put on a big event at Nord Vue in the not too distant future.... If anyone can help I am trying to track down a number of 'Trade banners' which have 'gone missing' on Sunday afternoon. We appreciate that fans may fancy a momento but these banners are expensive to produce and it is annoying for the sponsors to lose them. Currently we have lost a number of 'Trials Central, Lloyd GP of Great Britain, YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE and Stobart banners. Please let me know if you can help track any of them down. Don't forget to tune in to Eurosport on Thursday night.. And does anyone have a picture of Fuji's mega dab (nearly another disaster!) on section 13 on sunday ? (section of his big crash on Saturday) Thanks for the support Gary Trial co-ordinator
  10. Hello Guys, Just home from a long day sorting out final bits and pieces.... Sections all finished, Tapes up, banners etc well in hand. Need a few more tomorrow...But it looks great. It has been suggested that the venue may suit the Europeans but all aspects of bike control and skill will be tested as there are 3rd gear climbs and steps to compliament 'some big boulder sections' in the quarry. A damp surface will make it tougher in places but would not change things too much! In fact Doug seemed to revel in the sections at the British Experts so lets hope he can go for it at the weekend. Dibs and Browny will go well on this terrain without question! Anyway to answer the question.... It will take 10 mins or so to walk up the hill and then five minutes to section 1. After that you can choose your direction and there are points in the quarry from which you could see at least 5 sections. If you were to follow an early youth rider around the whole lap you could see every section without having a heart attack. The riders will cover between 1.5 and 2 kilometers per lap. If you are not feeling energetic sit still, have a beer and watch the action on the big screen with commentary from Mr Kershaw! Gary
  11. The Nord Vue venue is based around an old sandstone quarry and the terrain is largely rocky! The sections feature huge boulders and slabs, Vertical steps, steep banks and roots. There are parts which are quite technical and area's where power and courage will be required. There are also a couple of quite scary jump off's and a huge tree stump all of 12ft high......Very spectacular and very accessible for spectators. Graham Jarvis has designed the course and used his experience to provide a wide mix of sections that will test the worlds best riders... Your friends will be amazed at what these guys can do!! A Giant TV screen will also replay the action throughout the weekend. Have a look on www.britishtrialgp.com and select 'galleries'...If you click on a picture it will open a sub gallery some of which show actual pictures at last years British Experts which was the first time the venue has been used for a major Trial. Lampkin, Dabill, Brown , Morris etc all feature in the pics. Also there are some shots of section building in progress. The venue will certainly provide a serious test of skill for riders and provide great entertainment for fans whether they are World Championship regulars or totally new to the sport. Gary Trial Co-ordinator
  12. Tom, Don't worry too much as there is a posative slant to all your queries: Firstly ..Yes the on-line shop closed on Thursday evening 7th May, As it may not have been possible to process the ticket orders and gaurentee delivery of the Wristbands or Camping vouchers before the event. John and Graham are more or less living in Cumbria from now until after the event. All on-line ticket orders have now been despatched as stated. With regard to Camping there is a limit to the number of onsite pitches available. Currently if you arrive on Thursday or Friday and stay 2 or 3 nights you will be ok. However if you have not pre -booked there is a strong possibility that you will not secure a space if you turn up on Saturday for 1 night only.....SATURDAY MORNING WILL BE THE PEAK ARRIVAL TIME AND ATTEMPTING TO SECURE CAMPING SPACE FOR SATURDAY NIGHT WITHOUT A PRE_PAID BOOKING IS BEING DISCOURAGED BETWEEN 8.00am And 10.00am. You could chance it either very early or after 10.30am. If there is no space there are campsites nearby SEE www.britishtrialgp.com and links to 'How to Get there' or Accommodation. With Regard to Prices: Friday - Practice Day and a 'Real' Chance to see the top riders close up and walk the course....
  13. A fantastic result in Ireland for 2008 Youth A class Stars Richardson, Walker and Morphett. The Sherco star from Richmond seems to be in fantstic form and may dominate all year? Young Morphett is the reigning British Champ and is getting to grips with the Beta Evo and is very capeable of a huge leap up the championshiop table... The Cumbrian fans at Armathwaite however will all be urging 'Keswick Boy Wonder ' Jonny Walker to turn on the form and top the podium. Will the home ground be an advantage or will the pressure be too much for the 'Ace Trial Team Star Man' ? WTC co-ordinator and Jonny Walker fan (the whiskey) thinks he will rise to the occasion on the ACE gasser!
  14. Thanks for the posative feedback. I am sure we will not let the fans or riders down on 16th & 17th May. Neil Wilson ...The World greatest Heavy Quarry Machinery Driver has done the business at Nord Vue...Not just the sections but for the fans! All sections are now like Roman amitheatres with great viewing area's .. And the big question is...Will anyone get up section 4?? According to the Great Jarvis it is 14ft high and overhanging!!!! And for the record..Rheghed visitor centre in the Lake District National Park ( the sacred home of all cragrats) are displaying a New MRS Trials Bike , displaying a massive poster and playing Duke marketing DVD 's of Trials Action for the next 2 weeks!!!! Not bad eh?
