  1. Could be the CDI unit. Thats exactly what mine did. Worth just checking the obvious bits like kill switch etc and also sounds like it might be worth whipping the carb out and blowing the jets through in case they're full of sand etc from the air box. If it's the CDI, the only way to really check is to get a new on and put it on unfortunately. Hope that helps.
  2. Hi all, I'm looking at a 12.5 for my 3 year old son but could do with reducing the costs a little so looking for a used one. Has anyone seen any or know the best people to speak to? They dont apear to exist! Surely those with kids that have outgrown the 12.5 must want to flog them so they can upgrade Cheers.

    2000 Beta Rev 3

Steve My 2000 rev3 had similar issues. It would start but die as soon as you gave it a rev, then it just gave up starting too. After spending ages stripping down and rebuild and checking electrics etc I finally gave up and bought a stator, coil and CDI from Lampkins who said just send back the ones that you dont need. It tuned out to be the CDI in the end and the bike now starts and runs like a dream!! Hopefully it's not the stator as a new one is pricey for 2000 rev3. There's a company called 'West Coast Windings' (google them) who will do a full re-wind for about
  5. Well I for one am intrigued about this 'tool'. I've struggled for hours doing it the old fashioned way and can still never get ALL the air out. Please post up a few photos and bit of a description as it may save a lot of hair pulling!! cheers.
  6. Bennetts insured my unregistered Rev3 3rd party fire&theft with just a frame number. Once I'd registered it I just called back up and gave them the reg number. No charge for updating the details and they sent through the new paperwork the next day.

    Rev 3 2004

Nooooo. You've had it. Should've used gold for its better heat dissipating properties Subanator - "Clean exhaust, repack muffler"........how do you go about cleaning the inside of the exhaust? My 2000 250's pipes are massively coked and often get fuel through them due to flooding issues (hopefully solved that with carb mod but cant check yet as bike wont start ) cheers.
  9. Hi folks....looking for some guidance and ideas I recently bought a 2000 Rev3 in pretty good nick (my first dip into the waters of trialing). It's been running pretty sweetly until this weekend. Used it Saturday fine, but on Sunday it started then the revs went kind of 'bogged down' when I applied a little throttle and it hasnt run since. I figured it was flooded badly but that doesnt seem to be the case. There wasnt much of a spark but I've replaced the plug and it sparks ok against the head when tested. So far I've: * checked spark & replaced plug * removed carb, checked and blown all jets etc (also did BillyT's float bowl height mod while I was in there to stop it ****ing fuel!) * removed & checked reed valves * took the cylinder off, checked piston & rings etc....all fine (other than the expected black piston top...probably never been looked at in 9 years!) Now I'm stuck. There's plenty of fuel getting in and no aparent air blockages and it is sparking. The crank was full of fuel though...had to syphon it out and leave the rest to evapourate over night!! My only thoughts left are....bad fuel or dodgy mix (it was fully empty Saturday night and re-filled with new fuel [70:1] Sunday morning just prior to the problem), some kind of timing issue or the stator. Any other ideas before I have to buy a flywheel puller & stator?? Cheers.
