Helo! My friend has this bike two years already and never cleaned the carburator...he is not a mechanical type. But motor runs well till now. He is trying, instead of cleaning poor thing, to turn the air screw and now he don't know the right settings. Can somebody tell the right setting for air screw? Is it 1,5 turns out as Beta has? I go tomorow to him and clean it. Is it also so simple to remove the carburator as by Beta?

Hello, I just read on Betatrialuk that we should use Semi Synthtetic oil for Petrol mix. I use TTS and have every year a lot of Carbon on piston and Cylinder head..maybe Semy Sint. is beter in this direction? Samo

Simptoms are the same as when you forget to open fuel and before engine dies, you hear "ping, ping.." sound in cylinder. Yes, I try to raise the needle for a notch, but than mixture was too rich. Engine didn't run smooth.. 140 is smaller than 145 and it will be leaner yes Liviob, but I'll try anyway. Maybe is Pilot too small-27,5 I'll put 30 and will see..

Liviob, you mean 140 main? I'll order 140 and 135 and try both.

I use always 100 or 98 octane gas. Altitude I ride is around 500m. Now I have 27.5 pilot jet and 145 main. Thanks guys, I much appreciate your answers. Samo

Do I need bigger needle also?
  13. samo replied to samo's topic in Beta
Spark is ok. It runs lean from the first day I bought this bike. When I raised fuel level it was a bit better, but not as it should be. I want to try with biger jets, they are not too expensive. Just need the right sizes. Cheers

When engine is hot and I am driving on steep hill with half throttle or more..
  15. Hello! I have 250 Rev 2007mod. and tryed everything, but motor runs lean. I raised fuel level, clean all jets trying everything with air screw, needle.. Can someone tell me the best sizes of jets for Mikuni carb.? Thanks Samo
  16. samo replied to stephen1967's topic in Beta
Ralph, if you clean piston and head is it enough take of just head? Not whole cylinder?
  17. samo replied to stephen1967's topic in Beta
Mine has the same problem and I solved it by raising the fuel level and optimizing the air screw. I tryed raising the needle but the mixture was too rich. Your bike just need richer mixture. Now you have too much air and too little petrol..

What about older models? 2007 Rev3. Can I Change oil in rear shock myself? Do I need some special tools? I found my a bit oily on outer side..
  19. samo replied to samo's topic in Beta
I use 98 oktan fuel. It is the best I can get here.. Yes Chewy with fuel off,or when I 'm riding a steep slope or when riding wheely knocking sound is oftener. Is there a solution to solve this problem? Thanks for replies guys )
  20. samo replied to samo's topic in Beta
Thanks for reply Chewy.I already raised fuel level and air screw is only one and a half turns out. So I assume the mixture isn't lean and I stil hear this knock when I turn the throttle off. One main bearing has a little play, but not much. What should I do?

Hi! When lean I hear piston knock. Is it possibile when lean, piston hits the head?I hear just one or two knock when i turn the throttle of, or when i forget to open fuel. Is it possibile that when the main bearings are bad the piston can hits the head? I checked crankshaft and there is no play.. Greetings Samo
