  1. Hi, I am looking for a bit more power from my evo 250..I was wondering if it is worthwhile fitting an S3 front pipe, What are peoples experiences of them ? do they save much weight ? and do they have a good sound .to them ?. .Many thanks.

  2. I wear a pair of .knee guards under my riding pants. I bought them from a sports shop and only cost £10, They don`t restrict movrment at all and have saved my knees from getting a good bashing on .many occasions.

  3. .Thanks for all your replies.I t seems as though people are favouring the 2012 model over the2011 .Has anybody owned the earlier model and how do they differ ?. As with the last post .- what does a 2012 go for now and .also the 2011 model ?.

  4. Hi I currently have a 2011 Beta evo 250 and am considering replacing it with an Ossa. I am looking at 2011 and 2012 models, are there much differences between them ?. How reliable are the Ossa`s and what sort of regular maintainence do you have to do to them ?. I have read about the re-mapping that needs to be done, what other mods need to be done. ? . I know the bikes are light but how do they ride compared to a Beta ?. Hopefully help from forum members will point me in the right direction, many thanks.

  5. took the carb and air filter off this morning, gave them both a good clean, removed jets in carb, cleaned with carb cleaner and sprayed in every orofice ( even got some in my eye !! ). Put it all back together and it was marginally better , adjusted throttle cable and it seemed a little bit better and also adjusted the air screw..There seems to be a tiny bit of a flat spot and the noise ( intake of air ) is coming from the air box. Any ideas what could be causing this to happen?

  6. hI , i HAVE A BETA EVO 250 2011. tHE BIKE HAS DEVELOPED A FLAT SPOT JUST AS YOU OPEN THE THROTTLE. tHE REST OF THE REV RANGE IT RESPONDS FINE. i AM USING AN NGK BPR 5ES PLUG AND AFTER EVERY USE I CLEAN THE AIR FILTER AND CARB.. i HOPE THERE IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. MANY THANKS.

  7. Hi can someone please put on a picture of a keihin carb. Took my carb off today and cannot see where the pipe that goes through the float bowl connects to on the main body of the carb. /many thanks.

  8. I have recently bought an.2011 evo 250.I have noticed when the bike is running there is a small trickle of fuel .leaking out and going onto the ground. I can`t really see where it is coming from. Somebody suggested it could be a sticking float, how would I rectify this problem ? Many thanks.

  9. I managed to get a pair of 8's before they all went. See how good a fit they are when they arrive? A bit of a gamble as I've never tried the new Askews before but at that price I was willing to take the chance? I'll pass on my findings when they arrive, if they're a bit tight then somebody else will get even more of a bargain I suppose?

    GJ

I bought a pair of these boots over 3 years ago. They are still in good condition. I always wash them after every use, allow them to dry naturally and every so often give them a coating of dubbin.

  10. hi have had same probs in past and had a go a few different ways.

this is how I go about clearing the carbon.

pour neat petrol into exhaust and leave to soak for 2 or 3 days.

pour petrol from exhaust into container.

making sure all the fluid is removed i take a blow torch and heat up from the end that joins to front pipe untill i can see the carbon glowing red. then i prop exhaust up near vertical and place my fan heater so it blows air into and up exhaust. will fan the carbon and continue to burn for 2 or 3 hours. once cool i steadily bang it on chock of wood with a bit of old carpet on it to save any damage. loads of burnt carbon dust comes out. then i take bike for a good long blift to clear any leftovers.

hope this helps you out mate it works for me!

I don`t have the use of a .blow torch, but do have a heat gun, would this get the same results or not.

  11. I'll be watching this watching this for developements. Mine's got such a pop to it it sounds like a .410 shotgun going off.

There doesn`t seem to be much development on this topic. Surely there must be forum members who have come up against this problem.Your advice would be much appreciated.

  12. My Beta has been noisy for a while,re-packed silencer made no difference. My local bike shop says the noise is coming from the mid-box.Probably due to a build up of carbon.Took it off the.other day, filled it with petrol and let it stand.Cleaned it out today and flushed it out with Gunk, There didn`t seem to be much carbon .coming out. I was wondering if I used Caustic Soda it would get more carbon out or is too strong to use on an exhaust. Forum members have had conflicting comments on using Caustic Soda. Can anyone help with good advice.Thank you.

  13. Finding reverse logic here! Please explain!

There seems to be a distinct loss of power on steep inclines.Have also noticed going down long declines when I shut off the throttle there is a popping sound coming from the exhaust.

  14. Just been out on my rev3 today and noticed a loss of power going up steep hills. Before I could go up in 3rd .now it just manages to go up in 4th. I have just had the silencer re-packed at a dealer,so wonder if the mid section is bunged up as the re-packing hasn`t quietened the bike down much. The bike is an 05 model so I was wondering if it might need a re-bore. Thanks for any good advice.

  15. I have re-packed the exhaust today, started bike up and it didn`t sound much different.I did notice on the exhust near to the air box there are two rubber seals and one of them is split.Would this make the bike sound louder ?.

  16. I have a Beta Rev3 250.The exhaust is a bit loud and i have been advised to have it re-packed. I have taken the rear silencer off and also the black part that fits over the end of the exhaust. I can see all the packing inside, but want to know if I take it out will the baffles then come out.I have heard that you are supposed to soak the exhaust in petrol to get all the crap off. Is that all the rear silencer or just the baffles, ?. Good advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
