    The bike is a 2005 model and the problem has been getting progressively worse. I forgot to mention in my original post the compression when kicking over is really high and makes starting really hard as i am never sure when the kick -start will "bite". Is there a cure for high compression ?. Thanks.

    My Beta has an engine knock when going up steep hills,also seems to be a bit down on power. Would a top end rebuild be the answer to this problem. If so can anyone advise how much this would cost if .I took it to a bike shop. .I live in the North East,any good bike shops that would be recommended. Thanks.

    Hi ,I am thinking of going to the Scott this year, what are the best sections to go to watch. I realise if you are watching one section you will miss riders going through the next one.Can someone recommend a good sequence to watching the sections. Times and detailed directions would also be appreciated.Many Thanks.

    I have a pair of Clice Jeans,they seem quite durable but have very little padding. I also have a pair of Exid gloves and shirt. The gloves did not last long,poorly made and did not withstand been washed frequently. I have replaced them with a pair of Pro-Grip MX gloves,very light and offer more padding.. I still wear the shirt and it has shown no signs of deteriation. The shirt is one of the cheapest around but is very similar to other shirts,except it does not carry a branded name.

    I took the throttle off,sprayed in lots of WD 40 onthe cable and put it back together but did not put the throttle body all the way onto the handlebars. It now works fine.

    Sometimes my throttle sticks open and does not return to it`s normal position. If I take off the handlebar grip it is fine,but once . I start to put the grip back on it occasionally sticks. I am sure there is an eas.y solution but it has got me stumped at the moment. Many thanks for your help.

    Try Express Signs(North East) ,Stockton-on-tees. They printed two swinging arm decals for my Beta about 9 months ago and they haven`t worn at all.I think they have an advert on E-Bay .under Bike stickers.

    I have a pair of exid gloves and they have ripped,but more importantly they were never that comfortable. Any ideas what to replace them with ?. I know you pay a premium for branded items but are there any unbranded that are comfortable,hard wearing and sensibly priced ? Ideally I would like to pay between

    Over Revving

    Hi , I have a Beta Rev 3 250cc (2005 ).Recently I took the carb off to clean it (not an easy job ! ). When I have put it back together and started the bike it over revs,tried to turn the tick -over down with the two adjustment screws but it still over revs. Anybody know why my bike is doing this ?.Hopefully there is a simple solution but I don`t seem to be able to work it out myself. Your help would be much appreciated.

    Hi my bike makes a knocking sound when it is under strain,ie going up steep hills.I think the piston needs replacing. How much should I reasonably expect to pay for a new piston and a rebore,parts and labour included.Thank you

    Hi there,this is my first post on here,I have a Beta Rev 3 250cc,2005 model.The bike has very high compression,i.e. the kick start is very hard to kick down.Recently I have noticed if I go down any steep hills the bike locks it`s back wheel and wants to stall.Are the two connected in any way and is there a way to fix this ?. I am not the world`s greatest mechanic but any help would be much appreciated.
