  1. Forgot to mention the baffles - yes all sorted mate. When we looked inside mine there really straight forward, just blanks with two holes in which are in different positions to each baffle. If that makes sense. There's nothing to them. Once the first one is ready I'll use it on my bike at a few events and report back.
  2. I'm the boss unfortunately, I run a Joinery manufacturing company and only last week due to orders put the 3 chaps who work for us on 6 day weeks. I don't know if I can get it off myself after really having to push them to work Saturdays. Sunday is a no go due to family commitments. I'll try my very best though, just can't promise it. Heat shield will be ready end of February. As to regards for other bits, I will be doing other bits after this. Unfortunately mines a 1985 model so will concentrate on that year for now. I could look at doing a kirkstart but because this isn't my main job timescales are an issue. This isn't a problem when its my part but does become an issue when its someone else's.
  3. I'll do my best - whatever I do I'll keep you informed.
  4. Back has gone really well - done abit of refining on the moulds and the back has come out perfect pretty much straight from the mould. Looking to get first one built up by end of next week - end is in site! I don't think I'll be a Telford, I want to but I think I'll be needed at work.
  5. Hello Doug, The skins would are ready now - but currently concentrating on the complete exhausts before anything else. The mid box section between the silencer and front pipe would be pretty simple to make - that wouldn't be an issue. Mine is fine so I have no need to look into it but it could be done? Slight update. Another apology due to time taken but due to other work commitments its been on the back burner. We got the back section mould back a couple of weeks ago, will get the back section pressed in the next week or so but the mould has come out perfect. Hope everyone has had a good Christmas & and have a good New Year. Will update when more progress is made.
  6. It looks like its riveted on or something similar. The only way I can see to make one is to attach it to the exhaust bracket at the top and the clamp at the bottom. Looking into it though as its something I've wanted for awhile.
  7. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/56437-honda-rtl-silencer/page-2 I'm having one like this made if this is what you were meaning? Joe
  8. Still awaiting for the return of the moulds (should hopefully be this week) Massively frustrating the time taken. I'm also having a heat shield made for the silencer, again - should be an exact copy of this ..... If this will be of interest to anyone? No idea on price yet, but as before contact me if interested.
  9. Price will be around the £450, it isn't been done to a price though, the price will be however much it is to get it right. Although in my opinion its good when you compare it to the stock silencers you get for the TLR's at £200 - 250. Especially when you look at the quality of them compared to even at this stage the detail in one of these. Next update will be 2 - 3 weeks, we should then have the back section with us then its just a case of fixing together / baffles / bracket / collar etc. Was pretty exciting seeing this second template. As upto now it seemed like nothing was progressing. Joe
  10. Hello 4stroke, We were talking about your question this morning - it would be possible. At the moment though we will be concentrating on just getting the complete silencers made up. I sent my exhaust away again for moulds to be made of the back section ( I didn't want to do this before until I could see how the front skin came out due to costs of getting moulds made) I know it was mentioned earlier about thickening the back section to get over the fact of the rear wheel rubbing on the tyre. I aren't doing this. it will be as original. You can get over this anyway by slightly forcing the silencer out on the original bracket, you do have a slight bit of movement. I've also borrowed a bore scope to look inside to see what the baffles look like. I've been on the look out for a knackered knocked about exhaust to cut up but nothing has come up. I certainly aren't cutting mine up. A second prototype front section was done yesterday evening. Huge difference. still work need but hopefully you can tell the difference in this picture and the one above. First. Second. Thanks, Joe
  11. Absolutely, wouldn't expect anything different. Its taking far longer than planned, but I don't really want to rush him. As soon as the first fully finished one is complete I'll be taking detailed pictures of it and my exhaust side by side and checking measurements. Joe
  12. So we got a very rough template made up. It still needs smoothing out and more work but this will give you an idea (my original exhaust is behind) I'm really pleased - yes it needs work still but the basics are there and its looking good. I'm having three made for my own bikes. If serious please let me know, they won't be cheap but you get what you pay for.
  13. Hello, First one will be ready end of October. I made the huge mistake of saying no rush - whenever you can. I spoke on the phone with him beginning of the month, he was away for 2 weeks in September then promised to concentrate on them. He has money tied into the moulds now so also wants them further on. Ill be dropping him an email end of this month so will keep you updated.
  14. I know, it is high on the price. For that I will expect it to be identical. For the two he's making for me I've said to him the price I aren't that fussed about (within reason) but the quality has got to be 100%. At the moment that's all I can say. I'll keep you updated though. There will be detailed pictures once I can get them.
  15. Cost would be around the £400 mark. As soon as possible I'll get pictures up for you to view.
  16. As above, I took the casing of, degreased it then put Ducati sealant (I had that kicking around) on the inside. I did that around 6 months ago, I've done 6 ish trials on it and no problems since.
  17. I'm having made a replacement exhaust silencer for my 1985 RTL250. Would anyone else be interested in one? My exhaust has been used as for making the templates and moulds , will be getting my new ones in 3 - 4 weeks. PM me if interested, Joe
  18. Has this been sorted now? Its not something I've had an issue with on my RTL but I know westcountry windings have been fantastic at helping me over the years with the coil on my track bikes. certainly worth a call.
  19. That would be fine John - starts at 6pm. Postcode is YO26 9TT. All information is here: http://www.eboracummotorcycleclub.co.uk/entries.html Get down on the 18 / 19! really is a cracking trial. The weather is supposed to be fantastic so there should be a good turn out. The sections are really far apart aswell so very little waiting to get on a section. Regards, Joe
  20. Found it in the end mate, it must have got kicked out of the garage somehow and when I walked to the car I spotted it. bloody lucky! Thank you though.
  21. Evening John, Billy Kendra organises it. Its not no, The trial is officially a two day trial - 18th / 19th, I go on the 16th and help set up the courses then on the 17th we normally have a small trial on the evening as people start arriving at Friday lunch time with caravans etc. Brilliant trial, big rides in between the sections. Good variety of sections to, hills / stream sections / rocks. Joe
  22. Thank you, big help both of you. I'm certain while changing the dam seals I've misplaced - read that as lost, the spacer for the front spindle. Can someone with an RTL measure the width and diameter of there's. I can machine a new one up out of alloy but just need accurate measurements.
  23. Fork oil for an 1985 RTL250? What do people use and what capacity? Seals went on mine and changed seals but can't find anywhere what oil to use. joe
  24. Nice! I've seen your lad on the 50 at a trial before. Do you do Ouseburn 3 day trial this month? 17th / 18 / 19 this month I think it is.
  25. Apology's in the time taken to reply. 'Classic trial' £325. its classed as the evo style, alloy tank. Joe
