    Honda Tlm260Rf

I had read parts were harder to get hold of than the RTL's ... I was thinking maybe of buying it, using it this summer in a few trials then selling. I'll be honest I was hoping to maybe use it then make a quick profit! I think the RTl is enough hassle at times getting parts for and unsure if I want the aggro of another bike in a similar position.

What's would be the current price of a good original, ready to ride one. Rough value? 1992 model. Theres one local ish to me, the guy has had it 15+ years. Never really used it and could be tempted to sell. He said to make an offer but have no idea what there worth. I looked online but there seems to be very little on them, no recent stuff. Joe
  3. Just to keep this going! Tank unit / shelter should be here next week / levers are all here so back end of next week she should (touch wood) be finished. Other things always seem to take priority over the TLR but she's about there. The RTL has been getting constant use throughout winter and will be doing her annual 3 day trial in April. Recently bought some spare rims for her. She runs like a sewing machine and hasn't missed a beat. The grip that you can get on her is fantastic, first gear is fine for most sections. I do need a new set of tyres for her though. Its the original tyre on the front I think and the rears a IRC which I would prefer Michelins all round. This bike will never be sold, on the look out for a 1989 model though. Few pictures from the Thirsk trial today with a mates 4rt. Showing the clay like mud after the first lap! Will hopefully have a bigger update next week!
  4. Knew I recognized the Honda 50 - I was also at the trial and remember seeing it there. Don't remember seeing the 200 though. Think he was with a chap on an Ossa when I saw him at the section.
  5. The 90 degree bend seems to be separate from the rubber grommet, looking at it? Or is it one piece? I was going to put some silicone on it, as a last resort. Will take it of at the weekend and see what I can do.
  6. Need help again! The seal that goes round the breather pipe on the top of the flywheel cover (see photo) is weeping ever so slightly. Its directly above the 'N' in Honda. Does anyone know the part number? Joe
  7. Thanks for that mate, massive help. Ordered three to be on the same side, 2 - 3 week waiting list so we'll see!
  8. JJ - 65, how did you find out what part number it was?
  9. If this is in the wrong section please feel free to move it. We go abroad to my partners family's house in Cannes, South of France. Usually go on bikes or cars. Was thinking this year of going in van and putting superbike in and also putting Honda RTL in and maybe going a few days earlier providing there was somewhere to ride in the Alps / South of France. Anyone done any tours or these trial bike holidays? Any links to sites or useful information? Thanks in advance. Joe
  10. I don't know how people do it. I tried leaving it in the garage but after a month thought whats the point. Providing you look after them, and are careful there isn't a problem.
  11. This is annoying, is there anyone else who has had to get parts for there RTL?
  12. Brilliant, i'll give him a try. Thank you. If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to share.
  13. I'v lost on a Trial the triangular black plastic and like jubilee clip that holds the rear suspension reservoir to the side of the frame. I can post pictures if it helps but its situated above the front sprocket. Iv tacked it on and its fine but does anyone know anyone that is breaking an RTL or someone who has a decent supply of secondhand parts. Or even a bike that used the same rubber? Regards, Joe
  14. Trying to find genuine Honda parts I can imagine to be nearly impossible. Also prepare yourself for a huge amount to spend. Good luck though - keep us updated as would be a good guide if I ever need to do mine.
  15. More pictures! My camera is awful, does it no justice.
  16. She runs! rides great! Proper chuffed. Few changes, shes getting an 'evo' style tank, along with an 'evo' rear mudguard. Also got on order a 2015 Beta Evo white mudguard for her. Tank / levers and cables and I'm done. Unfortunately this will be after Christmas as Vicki has put her foot down and insisted on going away over the Xmas break so funds will be needed for that. Pictures don't do her justice, over two years its taken but shes getting there!
  17. So i should update this. Due to various reasons the TLR got put on the back burner. Doing most of the trials on the RTL250. But, engine has now been fully vapour blasted, totally rebuilt. Once stripped down she was in a pretty bad way - no idea how she ran so well. The cam chain had been eating into the casings. I have the New years day trial which i've set as my deadline. Only two for now but it shows I'm still plodding away. Shes now getting built up so should be some good progress coming. My main excuse the TLR's been on the back burner ....
  18. The bike is a 1985 Honda RTL that I bought from Steve Saunders, it came with no V5 I want to get a V5 sorted - how do I go about it? Any advice would be great. Joe
  19. Horn, Number plate Rear reflector. There the three I needed for my Fireblade track bike so I can only presume its the same with a trial bike.
  20. Thanks Craig. Shall have a look.
  21. Wheres the best place to buy Honda RTL parts? I know there hard to come by and I'm ok at the moment but I have no desire for mine to become a 'garage queen' Swingarm chain slider and bits like that mainly.
  22. Looks good, where did you get the swingarm covers from?
  23. Looks well mate! Would love to have a river section to play in. All iv got is mostly little streams.
