Looking at the NILS partnership announcement I don't think we will see a "production" TRS until January. I believe a few of the test riders made observations that Jordi took onboard and decided a design change was needed.
Not a big fan of either but Marquez is in another league when it comes to messing with other riders on track. If you play around as he does then at some stage you are going to come off. Personally it looks like Rossi pushed him to the edge of the track and Marquez was trying to get round without losing ground at which point the bike folds. Not exactly either riders best moment but putting the blame totally on Rossi is not really on. I have to laugh at Repsol's statement regarding the accident as well. They have been on the side of Marquez's bike for many years and his antics in the Junior Moto's were hardly clean reacing.
As Above. The 2016 had a lower compression head to improve high rev running the map switch moved to the airbox as well. Ross Danby's seemed to run ok and the Ohlins is an improvement on the standard shock.
Usual Places BUMPY at Birstall is always available and has enough to practice at your level but has a few good rocks and a nasty Gulley for when you feel braver. Parkwood Off Road at Tong is open once a month. Wide ranging site with lots to try. If you join Horsforth then their land at Swaine Woods on the Leeds Ring Road is available. Most Clubs have Novice Beginners series but they are running to the end of that season. West Leeds are at Post Hill tomorrow at 1pm and will have a very easy course. Bradford do run various Easy trials Seriews and usually they run throughout the year. Just watch the website
The Initial ones were a bit "peaky" but they improved to the point Billy Bolt won the 125 class at the SSDT. I'd also say that if it holds up under Billy Bolt then the build isn't that bad!!!! Billy is NEVER off his bike.
Chris thinks Dellorto's are a bit "flat". We have run Kehin's but they are too fiddly. Fi is the future so why not delve in now. The Weekend will be the first test.
Round here the Height difference between Trials around Leeds and up in the Pennines means you usually have to mess around. We aren't the only ones and it's probably down to using Kehin Carbs.
I don't think Ossa were ever "owned" by Gas Gas. The bikes were built in the Gas Gas Factory due to the local government putting up cash to keep both going. As per Gas Gas Ossa are talking of taking a bike to the Milan Show and restarting production.
The Bike is a 14 TR300i and was a Birketts bike but not one used by Billy Bolt. The reason for the change was to try and avoid the carb setting up Chris has had to do on all his bikes since the Sherco he had back in 2004. He hates wasting time playing with carbs at the start of Trials. He will be looking at the New Ossa and the Vertigo once they start production.
Well after two years The Jotagas is being moved on. It's been a blast but from now on We'll be in the Ossa Forums. The allure of Fuel Injection just too much for my Son.
Chris has just bought a Tr300i and wants to replace the Footpegs. We usually Use S3 Hard Rocks but they don't seem to fit and will not flip up due to the Fingers on the bottom of the rest. Talons look right but has anybody used anything else?
There are a number of questions of course. Did they have a problem with sales of the ST? Were costs too high? Given the rules did the rear tank hinder the bike? As others have said I do not think that Power would be a problem as most riders seemed to think it had too much in ST300 form anyway. Rather oddly we came across riders saying the bike was hard to ride who were winning their class. As it stands if they had gone to EFI this year My son would have been buying one. In this old fashioned form it's not really in the running.
Most of the development of the Trials Bike seems to have been in the Frame and looking at this one, besides the Obvious Scorpa link it also reminds me of the Ossa TR. Personally I think the engines are currently the weak link. They are very susceptible to atmospheric changes and vulnerable to water and dirt ingress where the "Advanced" Sherco and the Ossa had advantages due to higher placement of the Air intake.
Todotrial seem to think at least one image is real and that the bike will be produced. We can presume that they consider the source to be credible. That does not mean that the UK will see any or that they will be produced in large numbers. Personally the images look like somebody has "added" new graphics to "old" bikes and the "new" bike itself is yet to be produced.
