I think about 50% of the posts in Mechanical Talk are there because they've been moved by the forum mods

What is being asked for is what the bike-specific Forums and the mechanical talk are there for already. The bike-specific ones are best to be honest as you're far more likely to find a fellow-owner of the same brand who can help than by posting in the mechanical one.
