September 16, 200916 yr Search site under 'Scott Trial' & that brings up several items, I particularly like the Le Mans style start of one year, they declined resurecting it when I suggested it at a Scott committe meeting. From memory I think there's some also under 'Yorkshire Grand National' also try 'Travers Trophy Trial' For some reason I've previously used the itv.com site to watch & search for items. This was ages ago & I'm not 100% sure why but I think you can get a larger picture.
September 17, 200916 yr the 'yorkshire in the snow' is almost certainly 1938 i believe the location is beamsley beacon and the woods in the botttom behind the riders are at the top of langbar . i do not know when the lkley grand national started but the last scott in the area was 1937 perce's clip of 'holcombe bury' is the scott, but in 1936 it started and finished in blubberhouses nr harrogate at that time it was 3 laps of a moorland circuit around timble and beamsley, alan jeffries on a triumph was the winner. http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=82682 http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=2973 todays ilkley grand national is a much shortened version.
