December 27, 200916 yr Hi all, i`m very new at trials, my 95 jt25 is rubbing the silencer real bad, subframe doesnt seem bent, any suggestions ? would appreciate suggestions, not sure why it rubs as nothing looks wrong. Cheers
December 28, 200916 yr Wheel in the dropouts straight? (same amount of adjustment on each chain snail adjuster) Wheel should run straight. Your wheel bearings okay? First two things to check
December 30, 200916 yr Author cheers for that, but wheel bearings are new, and wheel is running straight. Cheers
December 30, 200916 yr Swing arm bearings??? Space out the silencer top mount from the frame with some washers...sorry it's bit vague, been a while since I had a gasser.
December 31, 200916 yr I have a jt 1994 gasgas and a jtr 1996 gasgas and both of them rub the exhaust :S now I bent abit the exhaust bracket abit out and its not bad now.
December 31, 200916 yr This is a problem with all the JTs I ever had. You can usually bend it out but I crash a lot and it always went back to rubbing. I had a patch welded on the inside of the silencer that I'm guessing was a bit thicker than the metal that the silencer is made of, still rubbed but never went through. I've seen guys rivet a patch on which allows for a quick change if it does wear out. Trick to that is getting it bent right so it doesn't reduce clearance. It was really nice when they went to the welded one piece exhaust ('07 I think?) haven't had it move a bit although I did have to space it out as it was rubbing right out of the crate.
