midlife
Picked up my new 2011 250 sherco Saturday.Went to trial on Sunday after two laps had fuel problems bike would only run with choke on. Striped carb found milky sticky stuff in carb, drained tank and filter and found same stuff. Any ideas. Bike runs fine now.

b40rt
What colour is the air filter oil, might just be excess pulled into the carb.
copemech
You haven't been artificially inseminating it have you ? Nothing sounds artifical here! Sounds like he blew it all the way back to the gas tank! Double ck that fuel supply can! Oils can separate out in cold weather.
geodet
I had a similar problem with mine. It seems that they dont flush out the fuel tanks very well when they are made. If you have done that, clean out the carb as well, not forgetting to completly remove the air screw and check the seat. Last thing is replace the fuel filter, the standard item seems to do nothing. I use an item from a Kart supplier on ebay and they are cheap enough to replace about every 4 rides. Since doing all that I have had no problems with mine at all. Good luck
