fatbastard
Was wondering why not many youngsters ride a Monty. On one hand with Toni riding one it has the Kudos for the youngsters. On the flip side are they too expensive for the younger rider? Or with coming off a 125cc do they have brand loyalty ?
breagh
Easy one this,a stock 4rt bears no resemblence to TBs. An off the shelf Gas Gas,Beta,Sherco is not much different to the works ones. To be contentious I would suggest TB be lucky to score WTC points on a stock 4RT. big john
Chloe Richardson (17) rode a Montesa 4RT in the Scott, she was out of time, but completed the whole course. She had her first ride around on the bike, the afternoon before the Scott, not bad eh? Big John
fatbastard
I find it quite amazing that anyone can finish the Scott and at 17 can only imagine what a great future they have in front off them. Do you think the bike was chosen for the purpose of the job or as there bike of choice ?
flappy
I would have to say it's the cost of them. Since i've had mine it's like a magnet, adults and youngsters all say they'd love to have one but (the adults) say they just couldn't justify the best part of 1500 quid more than a top spec Raga and the youngsters have got no chance of affording one. Another thing that others say to me is the extra expense of servicing, 2 lots of oil, filter, o rings, gaskets, I know it's not a lot more but it does add up. Personally, although the 4rt is a tad on the pricey side I think it's well worth the money and you only get to find this out when you own one and start tinkering, then you see the build quality compared to the others and it just makes sense. jtrials31
Across the pond over here, you can't get them. We don't have a dealer, so the only ones we have are the early ones.
