I put 100mls of it in to my gasgas today just to top it up as the oil was low it made things alot quieter and clutch was nice and smooth. It seemed nice and good for me.

It's also nice and cheap. Is it alright to use it for future gearbox oil changes?

thats a car oil right? some car oils can make wet clutches slip ................. I know that some people use car oil in thier bikes, but I wouldn't. not worth risking it!

it might make your clutch slip; I would drain it out and put some correct oil in just to make sure. my pro likes the putoline light gear oil (I prefer this over atf; makes clutch feel better)

All I can say is that I have used castrol gtx in an old drz and it was fine and a mate used castrol edge in his adventure and the clutch slipped......

there is a difference between bike and car oils; friction modifiers etc. hence jaso and api classifications.

I use the putoline light oil but I am rather tight myself and looking for something cheaper.

this is a great site for cheap oil ........ castrol tech said to use power 1 10w 30, but the 40 might be ok. this is where i get my 2t oil from too.
