I am thinking about buying a Sherco 125 2012, 13, 14 or 15.  What are the known issues?  Frame cracks?  Jumping out of gear?

Have heard about frames snap/crack and radiators bend and get dented
But on this post your only going to get negatives and not the positives 

 

we have had a `15 no problems other than rider inflicted damage ! never broken a radiator.

early bikes on your list had fuel problems - tank too low 125 was a bit worse. Frames didnt have good lock one year not sure which.

15 has been the best year yet for the sherco 125, had no problems on it other than the jet clogging in the carb which was down to dirty fuel. the gear box is very positive and never had any jumps or issues, on the 14 and 15 the quality is alot better than previous bikes. ill be getting a 16 soon so pm if your interested in mine, its mint, im down south.

Our 2013 had a few problems. One of them caused a crank main bearing failure. The factory had fitted main bearings with only one seal facing inward. This left the outside of the bearing open and with no lubrication.

 

The Formula brand brakes have been very troublesome. Best to buy a later model with AJP brakes.

 

Watch out for a seized swingarm bolt. Make sure you check it moves before paying any money.. Get a photo if you cant see the bike..
