I have the standard 4RT Cota and the short exhaust guard. Burning through a lot of riding pants as the section close to the kick starter is not covered by the guard. Is the RR300, Repsol or carbon fiber replacement versions any longer near the kick starter?

The 300rr is longer, the repsol bike are the same length as the standard but made from carbon.

It appears the 2016 Repsol has the longer (carbon) heat shield as well.

 

...Correct 2016 Repsols have longer carbon guards as standard.  I sourced one for the same reason from MSPORT but also found the available from spanish internet retailers / trials specialist.  Too expensive to buy from Honda for what it is.

Just what I am looking for....on site now only found the Toni Bou Repsol version, and the one they show is the short one...can I get a direct link to where on the site or th epath?

I ordered the one listed in the carbon parts section, the picture was of the older short guard but the newer long guard arrived ? Hopefully the same will happen if you order one? only downside is delivery is always a little slow usually takes a couple of weeks to the UK.

I didn't ask for the long guard so maybe I was just lucky? Might be worth emailing to see if they have the long version in stock.

Was fairly cheap, think with the postage it was about £40

After melting a new set of pants, I removed the heat guard, wrapped the pipe with header wrap, wire tied on and reinstalled metal heat guard.  Haven't melted any pants since.  Header wrap was about US$12 and the roll has enough to redo a couple more times if needed.

However you might make your exhaust hotter, or too hot. THis could give problems to the exhaust valve
