July 20, 201610 yr There is a small horizontal tab, welded on the left swingarm side, just behind the tapped vertical tab for the chain guard. Does anyone know what this is supposed to do? People turning their TLRs into pure single purpose bikes are usually cutting off unused wiring tabs, brackets etc. before painting a frame. Perhaps this tab is also one of those items being removed along with the other obvious ones? Thanks Edited July 20, 201610 yr by slip_kid
November 5, 20169 yr Hello there. I believe it's to stop the chain getting between the rear sproket and the swingarm & jamming the rear wheel if it comes off. A nice detail? Not worth removing!
November 6, 20169 yr I believe there was a slot in the original chain guard that it slid through instead of more bolts.
November 11, 20169 yr I'll have a look at mine tomorrow, it was unmolested when I bought it last December - direct import from Japan. Edited November 13, 20169 yr by bigmike1961
December 11, 20169 yr I just looked at my kids reflex . The tiny tab is there ... But I've got no idea what purpose it serves !!!
December 14, 20169 yr Had another look, there is one there after all! It doesn't have anything to do with holding on the chain guard though.
