Apico master cylinder boots

Featured Replies

So I bought some new boots to replace the ripped ones on my Beta.

Pulled the old ones off and built up the new ones before slotting them in, but they don't want to stay fitted into the master cylinder.

I've cleaned out the groove and tried various different positions, but they turn inside out and then pop out when I release the lever.

Next plan is a spot of super glue - am I missing a trick?

Be certain groove is clean, rotate boot several times to help it seat correctly before using lever.

I had the same problem. I tried silicone but it didn't hold. Eventually gave up and used an old boot that I had attached to an old master cylinder.

The standard master cylinders on the Beta are Grimeca, so make sure the kit you bought has "for Grimeca" on the label.

I think that Jitsie and Apico have them so marked, then they will fit properly without the use of any glue!

Hope this helps!

Nope, tried all sorts last night and even though I have the right boots fitted to clean grooves, I couldn't get the boots to stay in place for more than about five actions of the lever...

super glue it is then!
