BVM were brilliant (as always) they supplied the new stator free of charge under warranty, despite the bike being 2nd hand (but as new, if you know what I mean) then when the second one packed in a few weeks later, they offered to change it free of charge a second time.

By then I'd had enough, two trials spoilt out of five events entered because the electrics packed in.

BVM gave me a brilliant price in px for a new Scorpa and I rode it in a trial the very next day. Although in fairness, the Beta was litterally like new, (as in unmarked with the hairs still on the tyres) but it was a non runner.

I just wish I'd bought the bike brand new from them in the first place. It just goes to show you get what you pay for.

spoke to JLI and he said that electrical problems are not relevernt on the 2002 bike because its a differnt system.

he said to run it on semi synthetic oil at 70:1

and to use a 5 heat range plug

and repack the silencer.

'it sounds like its getting choked up'

at the moment i am using a 7 and fully synth oil so will change these and see what its like

Those are the same Leonelli ignitions that BVM sell. I like the idea of the programmable/switchable module.

i have repacked the silencer and will get some more two stroke oil and a plug asap and then see how she runs hopfully that will cure it other wise ill look into the electrics

the new plug hasnt made anydifference really just gotta change the oil now.

Ours was a 2002 and had to replace the stator. See earlier post.

As said in earlier posts, a friend of mine had an '01 that had a new stator.

So far so good.

It seems the oil has solved it.

what oils are you guys running and at what ratio.

i am now using the Motul 510 powerlube semi-synth

my son and i use PJ1 SILVERFIRE mixed at 70/1, 05and 06 beta's and champion n7ycc plug
