As said in earlier posts, a friend of mine had an '01 that had a new stator.

You'll probably find that most people will be charging around

drill a couple of holes either side of the split, and tie-wrap it together.

Bob, my suggestion is to ring Lampkins, ask if they can send you a cdi unit and a stator so you can try one at a time, and sort it by elimination. From the symptoms you describe, my guess would be that its one or the other.

Yes they do one, although you might struggle to get one from Lampkins. I got one by asking on trials central. Someone will probably have a spare one. Good luck.

Sorry to disagree with stevel and neonsurge, but my friends beta 270 had exactly the same symptoms as Bobs. New stator, no more problems. Bob, although the manual recommends champion N7YCC, Lampkins recommend NGK BP5ES, which i have had no problems with, and its the plug they run their bikes on also!

thanks honda rs. i,ll look into that option. its just that the bike is for sale, and the rest is in really good condition. Just tends to spoil it a bit.
