Beta evo 200 vs beta evo 250

Featured Replies

Hi, just getting into trials and been looking for a beta evo 200. I am struggling to find a 200 but plenty of 250's.

Am I biting off more than I can chew if I went for a 250 as opposed to the 200?

What's the general feeling of the 200.

Don't have any trials experience, but have 6 years road/sports bike experience and limited motocross/enduro experience.

I think you will be ok with a 250 bearing in mind your past off-road exp

You'd be fine with a 250, a 200 may be better but you can only buy what you can find. I wouldn't rule out a 125 either.

I ride a 250 because I couldn't find a 200.

I suspect ether would work out fine, however size and altitude could be a factor as well.  If your a bigger person and riding at higher elevation the 250 would likely be my choice.  If you are smaller and at lower elevation the 200 would be my first pick, however if you can't find a 200's just put a slow throttle tube on a 250 could work very well.

Good luck.

I'm only around 11 stone, and will be at pretty low altitude. So ideally a 200... But the temptation to get a 250 as they seem to be a lot more readily available is eating away at me...

If you are not able to find a 200 then a 250 with a slow throttle tube would likely be fine and if after that it still seems a bit much you can add a flywheel weight.

If you have a club near I would see if you can go to and event and maybe get a chance to ride a 250 so you can see how well it might work?

Had both, preffered the 250 with additional flywheel weight and a cam profile throttle tube.

UK 250 has a flywheel weight as standard, and there are pros and cons to it, same applies to a slow throttle.

Easier to start off with them to keep it tame but you may later want to remove them.
