March 23, 20188 yr Depends on what bike. Of course this is slanted as I have wanted to do the trials , but never have. I run 10/ 39 gearing, so I would go to 11/39. If it is a Beta first is useless for stock gearing and you need road gearing.

March 25, 20188 yr I did the ssdt on rev 3 betas and just left the gearing standard. It was still quick enough on the road. Yes 1t on the front will make it quicker on the road but you'll struggle to use 6th on the moors and some of the tracks so over the whole day it may not be faster. I'd suggest that you gear it so it suits you in the sections , don't worry about the rest. Cleans make you smile Edited March 25, 20188 yr by baldilocks
August 16, 20197 yr I went from 10/42 -12/42 but 1st was a little to quick in some sections so now gone to 11/42 and it perfect for me ?
