just wanted to ask opions on weather it is worth your time and bother to restore old fibe glass tanks. or maybe  bin them if have to be patched again and again  ,  just a real shame this has probably been kicking around scince the 70s

Does it leak? If not, should be worth sealing internally, giving it a cosmetic makeover on the outside and putting it into use.

If it does leak, try a repair and if successful do as above.

If for your own bike, replacing it with anything else would cost plenty and at the cost of losing the original Bultaco look.

if it's just something you want to clear out, it's got to be worth something to a Bulto enthusiast

only give 40 quid for it does not seem to leak but needs fair bit of work by a glasser .  I have few old bultaco tanks but after ethenol has penetrated there shot .think this is one that has sat for 20 years so might be ok what they worth done ain't got a clue ?

I'd be loath to bin it...............its a little piece of history, and once its been crushed etc, its gone forever........

That’s worth saving, three options: 1 get it repaired by a capable specialist. 2 have it sealed to use crappy modern fuel. 3 cut the inner section out to make a shelter/cover for a slimmer alloy tank. Don’t bin it you will regret throwing a piece of history away. If you use the bike in anger and drop the bike it may damage the tank so you could have it done up to look perfect but use it as a show piece and use some other tank for competition use.? 

Whether it's a new fibreglass tank cover or this old fibreglass tank or even an aluminium tank, they all need repairing after damage. If it was me I'd seal it and make it look pretty again and use it. If I had to pay someone to do the work then it would be a harder decision
