Try trials - South East

Featured Replies

Hello there,

Can anyone advise me where i could arrange for a 10 year old to try trials riding before i buy a bike.  Somewhere around the Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Kent type areas.  I know there are some experience day but many seem to be 4+ hrs away and i can't see anything local.  Google searches don't really turn up anything good.

Do any clubs offer a chance to have a go at all?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, keen to get him interested but want to be sure before buying a bike,

Dave

Not sure about suitable bikes but you could try Jason at Tricks in the Sticks.  Google the name for details.

I did a days training with him, my 2 Sons (in their 20's) and a couple of friends and had a great day.

Hope this helps.

Bruce.

That sounds perfect, i’ll look him up. Thanks Bruce

Surrey Youth motorcycle club. They have the various size Ossets and a trusty TY80 for youngsters to try. They hold have a go events once a month all fairly close to J11 M25. Their most recent was this past Saturday. They have a facebook page and Dave Renham at InMotion' dad Eddie runs it. I am sure Dave can tell you when the next one is, 2nd Sat of the month rings a bell.

Intro days run in Kent & Sussex......... https://www.motorbiketrials.com/intro-days

This is run by the club i belong to, Bexleyheath and District MCC, once a month usually, the next one is this saturday, you will need an ACU licence for all riders though before you ride.

I also reccomend Tricks in the Sticks, Jason is a brilliant teacher, i had a day there in March, the mud was unbelievably muddy, it had rained so much in the previous weeks, awesome fun though.

Thank you misscrabsticks, these are exactly what I was looking for, the club you recommend and the Surrey youth are perfect to get a feel for it. The mud sounds great!
