February 3, 200620 yr Hi has anyone with a bete had any problems with bleeding their back brake?? We got annoyed with it and took it to a local dealer Is there a nack to it or is it just plain difficult
February 3, 200620 yr Author Sorry about that i mean BETA i didnt mean to disrespect the most amazing trials machine on the planet.
February 3, 200620 yr If you are really struggling, try and get a big sringe attach a small length of tube and open up the bleed nut on your caliper. Then fill sringe and force the fluid backwards, this also releases all the air bubbles into the resovoir. Tighten bleed nut before removing sringe.......JOB DONE
February 4, 200620 yr GIZZA 5.....I TOTALLY agree...thats how I always do it, and it always seems, SO fast, easy, and works really well, that I can't understand why anyone does it any other way
February 4, 200620 yr Whos needs a syringe? why you cant bleed back brakes is because there is not enough travel in rear brake cyl rod To push cyl piston enough to force fluid down hose to caliper and suck fluid from reservoir. If that fails then you must have worn cyl seals or leaks?
February 5, 200620 yr 'cause with a syringe, you dont even need to remove the rod from the rear brake pedal
February 5, 200620 yr The rod to brake pedal is only a pin with a clip? 2 secs to remove and no need 4 syringe
February 16, 200620 yr My Montesa's rear brake feels weak! I have no idea how to bleed the rear brake: So, I took off the brake pedal/push pin. Hook up a syringe to the bleed screw and commenced to drawing oil from the main cylinder, is this correct? I'm simply pulling out the air. I need step by step instructions please, I've got em working, but should have way more braking power, I have new pads in place. sam Oops, I did not realize this was in the Beta forum!
