  1. No the top I'm looking at is from a 2000 model not pro. Good point about the actual bore size, could of been a marketing thing but I'm pretty sure the 270 was a 256cc and the 280 was a 272cc, but thats just from memory?
  2. Hi, I have acquired an old 270 (pre pro model) but it won't pull the skin off a rice pudding! Probably due to the bad piston rattle it has. So I'm looking at a new piston kit but also have the possibility of a complete 280 top end from the later 2000-2002 model. My question is will the whole top end swap like for like? May be some re-jetting I presume. Also is the Keihn carb option a good idea on these?
  3. Hi, I require a replacement lower rose joint bearing on the ohlins shock I have on my 2010 Beta Evo. Had a quick search on the net but can't find much so I'm just thinking if its the same as a the bearing used in the standard Beta shocks? Cheers, Sam
  4. Bongo its the same lump! Lampkins told me 800ml. But the real question is 10w 40 or 15w 50 fully synth???
  5. I had one that size, was a bit tight with 2 to be honest. When the handle bars turned they touched the roof. I had another which was8 x 5 x 4. That was ideal and as it was a single axle, I didn't need the extra trailer test. Sam
  6. I bought the Hebo for a 20005, then used it on an 2011. It comes with different bolts, spacers etc. So I think you'll be ok, as long as everything is with it. Definitely worth having as well. Sam
  7. Hi Matt, We all know about the other halfs Both popular bikes and 250's a good size to start off on. The GG's possibly easier to ride but the Beta's are a great package. May be comes down to condition and price... Your closest club will be West Leeds MC, http://www.westleeds.co.uk/ Hold most of there club trials at Post Hill, Pudsey. Cheers, Sam
  8. If you do a google search for "beta evo 4t engine manual" and look for a pdf link from American Beta. download this file its the entire engine re-build manual. Look on page 67 the items are 4 & 5 that went wrong with mine. I have to be honest, Its completely my fault it broke. Nether had a 4 banger before and I was jumping on it like a loon! I'm actually very impressed with the bike, especially the engine. Ive found a few manuals but struggling to find the one your talking about? Can you email me: samrev3@talktalk.net
  9. Seems to be worse at tick over but I'd have to have another listen, didn't want to run it too long. When the kick start went, I tried bump starting it a few times. Wonder if I've done any damage doing this? Can you explain a little more on the de-compressor spring? Apologies for my limited knowledge, only had the bike a few months.
  10. Hi, I recently broke both the initial and the secondary kick start gears. After replacing both gears ok, the bike is now knocking I've removed all the clutch and basket and cannot see anything obvious? There is a few minor marks on the teeth of the big basket gear but nothing that could cause the noise I would of thought anyway. Not sure what else it could be? Any help would be appreciated....
  11. and only 7 in the Expert A class.... not good.
  12. I bent the gear lever into the flywheel cover leaving Surrender. Some spectator guy managed to bend it out with a 10mm spanner, top bloke! I was on my way and finished well As you say without disrespect to the top guys professionalism and talent, for us lesser mortals to even finish that mammoth of a trial takes an unbelievable effort! Thanks to peoples help with drinks and shouts etc that makes it possible. Cheers!
