New (old) guy from Australia.
Hey Mate! Welcome to the refurbished forum. You’re one lucky guy because this forum has been down for two months and we all thought it was a gonner. It’s great that it’s back because there’s an awful lot of experience in these forums. I like your bikes. I have a Gasgas myself. I rode a 1974 Yamaha TY250 A back in the day and absolutely loved it. That was in the mid 70s though. Like you, I’m back to riding after all these years. The kids are gone from us too. I’m in Portland, Oregon by the way. I just turned 65 and I don’t have the invincibility I felt when 8 was 17 but I’m enjoying myself immensely. Stay safe and have fun! Ron H

Who has tried a soft clutch support ring?
Since shutdown, Hell restocked. Fitted. Did a few trials. Feels like my GG clutch used to. Couldn't be happier about that. Money well spent.

New (old) guy from Australia.
Newby to the Forum, Im 56 yo, I used to ride Motocross and trials here in Victoria, Australia back in the late 80's though to early 2000's. I was younger/fitter then... The kids have grown up and are doing their own thing now so my interest in motorcycles has come back to haunt me after a 20 something year lay-off. Looking forward to chatting. 👍 Current rides.... '14 Gas Gas TXT R 250 '81 Montesa Cota 200.

TRRS ONE RR 80CC 2024
UPDATE #2 Gearing & Mods: While the 12 tooth front sprocket has a lot of benefits it is too tall for some extreme climbs. Turns out the CS splines on this bike & the Beta 80 are identical. I fitted a 10 tooth front & 59 tooth rear in 428 from the Beta along w/126 links of 428 chain. That puts me right in the middle between 9/60, too low & 12/60 too high. Now, first allows me to climb anything slowly, or nearly anything in second very aggressively. Down side is some loss of top speed in high gear & the suspension is back to feeling nearly as harsh & dead as w/the stock 9 tooth. The Betas stock 11 tooth would be an option for a smaller rider & will just fit w/out modifying the rubber guide as necessary to fit the 12. A second small mod was switching from the quick turn throttle tube (white) to the ultra quick throttle assembly (part # 70129) from the Gold. I ordered the throttle assembly only & not the fancy bearing end cap ($) that supports the end of the tube. Instead I used the S3 End-5 bar end set. Since the first 4000 rpms are unusable, making whiskey throttle & herky jerk moves near impossible, this is a further improvement in responsiveness & rideability.
