Hi all, just bought my son a ty80 and, as i`m new to these little stinkwheels, i have a couple of questions. i have looked on here for the petroil pre mix ratio and have found 40:1, 50:1 and 66:1, are these measurements in millilitres to litres? if they are i would have thought 25:1 or 35:1 would have been plenty when using modern oils, also, will sae 10 w 40 be ok in the gearbox as i can`t find any sae10 w 30 anywhere? thanks in advance for any help. Pete.

What is the quantity (or how far from the tube top) does the oil go on a TY175? Sorry for all the questions. I have ordered the manual but it hasn't come yet and I have a couple of days off to work on the bike. Alan

I've got the chance to buy some TLR200 wheels for very little cash. The wheels on my TY175 need rebuilding as they're missing several spokes and the rims are dented and rough. I reckon the gold TLR200 rims would look great on the TY. Has anyone laced TY175 hubs into TLR200 rims? If you happen to be a wheel building expert I'd be interested in your opinion. Is this straightforward? Cheers

Hello all I've just got me suckers on a diddy 1976 TY 125. She starts well and looks sweet. I've a few problems though ,one being difficult higher gear selection and the other, which I'd like to explain in this mail is the carb. Iam into getting me tentacles dirty but Iam a little retarded as far as mechanical things but Iam making a determined effort to start learning now, today. My Carb problem is this. I turn on the fuel, get her going and fuel shoots out of both the plastic tubes that exit the lower body of the carb. Sorry, iam not sure of these tubes actual name, Iam currently looking for a Haynes manuel so I can explain better in future posts. Thats it. Thanks.…

Got a TY250 twinshock been littering up a corner of the shed for a couple of years and i am considering fettling it up for a bit of twinshock action later in 2010 so what do i have to do to it to make it competitive ? I was thinking along the lines of frame mods as per the origanal Majestys which had the frames cut and shut if the old grey cells serve me well. Does anybody have any details of what they cut out or what are the best frame mods? Already done the footrests and the rear shock top mounts and just got me a Majesty tank. Also had the yokes bored to 35mm and fitted a new set of Marzocchis. Is it worth raking the steering and then fitting TY250 mono fork bottom…

Group, Could someone tell me if these are the stock TY175 foot pegs. If they are altered do you have any idea how much they have been changed? The fork tubes are sticking about 1/2" above the clamps. Is that a fairly common riding position for a TY175? O.K.: Another question: It has a 525 prefix on the serial number. I find that to be a 75/76. Will the serial number tell me any more or get me closer to the exact year? Where can I find this information? Thanks Alan

Has anyone ever seen any differences between the specification on the front forks on 74 and 75 TY250s? Reason I ask: I have an early 74 and a very late 74 (possibly 75) and there seems to be an angle difference between the two bikes (the early bike has a steeper rake - tire nearer frame). I have look carefully at the welds and it doesn't look like anything has been altered, nothing bent. The down tubes and all of the other parts seem to be the same. Thanks in advance. Alan

Can anyone offer any advice on removing the flywheel from a '74 TY250A? I have removed the left crankcase cover and have the proper flywheel puller. After removing the nut and washers I installed the puller and tried to pull the flywheel without using too much force but no joy. Is it possible that the flywheel could have corrosion on the shaft impeding the removal? Before applying anything like PB Blaster I thought I would get some information from the illuminati. Thanks in advance.

Hi! I have aquired a Ty250c twinshock that has "Boge Orca 125-317" shocks on it that are in like new condition. I have been searching the web to try to find out if these were actually for a trials or enduro or whether they are for a vintage road bike. Boge was sold out to Af Sachs and I cannot get any reply from them. I need to find an old catalog from the 70's for references. Any ideas? Thanks!
