Hi, is there a go to bike for beginners? my son is 18 and I’m looking for a bike for him. He’s never ridden a motorbike before so I’m expecting something easy to look after also.

I see from the coverage on Facebook and ACU, that this last weekend's Devon round, had only 1, yes.......a single Championship Class rider and that was Iwan Roberts What is going on ? (I know Covid) The Trial2 and Trial Expert Classes & Trial 125 were well supported So is this what the British Championship has become? Too many classes, no blue riband British Champion?

The club i have most often competed with in the past have resumed events, but say that they are only accepting entries from club members. This year im not a club member of said club (mostly because of covid), im a member of no club, and because they aren't accepting any more members in 2020, i cant compete for another 5 months (maybe this will change in the near future). Ive noticed a lot of clubs throughout the UK are taking this stance, for reasons ranging from 'limited to numbers' and 'we want to support riders who have supported us pre covid'... Im a little vexed by this, and feel its a little discriminatory (and i am not the usual person who feels discriminated over …

Seems like other countries are boxing on with organising trials again... certainly France anyway... seen a 3 day event is happening in August and they are taking entries. Wonder how long it will be before clubs start putting events on over here again......

Hi there UK trial-mates! I'd like to get a nice portable cleaner that is unfortunately just available for UK shipping. https://www.jetwet.co.uk/product/jetwet-portable-power-washer/ I'm from Germany and so I'm looking for a nice trial-mate who would be kind and forward the parcel to Germany. Of course I'm going to pay all shipping costs to Germany in advance. I got some Boyesen power reeds and carbon fiber reeds for some Sherco bikes. One of them as a free gift for the helper! ? If not I'll find another way to say thank you.

Latest news from ACU - full report on their website. Practice days to be allowed. Will be interesting to see how this works with the numerous clubs and practice venues / club available land. Practice Permits. With effect 1st June, permit applications may be sent to the relevant Discipline Secretary to apply for a Practice Permit for practice events to commence from 8th June. It is stressed that this is not for competition but for practice only and participants aged 16 and above. A General Principles document and Risk Assessments pertaining to each discipline will be issued shortly which again will outline the control measures that must be put i…

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has got any recommendations for trials venues that involve rocky streams etc instead of the usual mud and slop that we have to ride though down here in the south, looking at traveling a bit further a field once things are back to normal! Cheers, Daniel

I’m dreaming of a new ride. Beta Evo factory 125 or 200 or Vertigo 200. Obvious differences in costs, equipment and bling levels. I’m just wondering which one comes from the manufacturer best prepared? I’m happy to strip a new bike to grease things properly but does either manufacturer add enough grease during assembly to make this not needed? I just want to ride it!!!

ACU Trial and Enduro Department has just posted this on Facebook. No events until at least June at the moment. Covid-19 Update In light of recent developments in the COVID-19 crisis, and following the address to the nation by the Prime Minister on the evening of 23rd March, the Auto-Cycle Union has today extended its suspension of all organising permits for motorcycle events until at least 31st May but will be constantly reviewed. This move provides clear guidance to event organisers, clubs, venues, competitors, officials of the role that the Auto-Cycle Union must play in supporting the broader UK public health agenda. Auto-Cycle Union Ch…

Statement on Covid-19 On behalf of ACU It is with regret that the ACU are suspending all competition and social activity until 30th April 2020, but this will be constantly reviewed. This is in response to the emerging guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. All permits for events during this time will be cancelled and reimbursed in full to the organising club/ promoter. As the National Governing Body would ask all ACU Members to act responsibly and follow the Government’s guidance during this difficult time. We have a responsibility and duty of care to our staff who will be working from home, so please be pa…

As it's on my doorstep, almost literally, I went up to spectate at Hookwood last weekend. Some of those sections looked truly gruesome, especially given the amount of mud that was around. I was having difficulty standing up on two feet, let alone two wheels! Hats off to all of the competitors for sticking at it and rewarding us all with a great day; very well done!

Any fellow Northern Irish folks here? I live in Asia where I can’t find an oval shaped helmet to fit me. I’ll be home in Belfast in March and I hope to find somewhere to try on and buy a helmet, but the last time I was back I couldn’t find anywhere. Can anyone tell me where in and around Belfast sells helmets? thanks in advance, D

Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice on getting into trials really. bought my first trials bike a couple of weeks back, a 2002(i think) sherco 250. Been out a couple of times so far and having a lot of fun, Ive always had bikes (rode mx and did my bike license at 17) but the trials is definitely a new style of riding ive not experienced before! lots of technique involved... I live in gloucester and was wondering what clubs were about, how the licensing works (acu amca etc), how to get involved in doing some trials events and also where can you find fixtures for the events? Any input appreciated and heres a pic of the bike!
