Afternoon all, thought I'd introduce myself seeing as I will be badgering you all for advice etc in the future. I'm from Chesterfield and have very recently just returned to trials after about 17 years, I have just bought myself a 2005 gasgas 250. Thanks in advance for any help and advice I get along the way.

New to all this standing up and riding slowly stuff. At the ripe old age of 65 I've decided to give trials a go as I'm too old to tear about on race tracks. And falling off a 2 mph is preferable to much faster on tarmac. Well I had a go at the Aqueduct club training day recently and thoroughly enjoyed it on a borrowed Montesa 250. Been riding since i was 15 and done a bit of road racing, but need an excuse to get into the garage for some therapy fettling bikes again, especially with a second lockdown on the horizon. I guess I will be asking lots of daft questions that most of you know the answer to, but we all have to learn from somewhere. Regards John M

Hi, I am just getting back into trials after several years off and moving down to Pembrokeshire. It would be great to meet up with any local trials riders and also to find out about any local areas to practice!? Cheers Keith

Hi, my name is Tod, and after 40 years of being without a trials bike, I'm now back in the fold. I've never been without at least 1 road bike and recently managed to blag a long term loan of a Montesa 349, of the type I used back in the day. Been fettling with it to get it running after being laid up for at least 2 years. And now it starts 1st kick and idles sweet. Just have to figure out the other big issue..... Poxy thing is stuttering in wide throttle openings. No power. I'll be scouring this site for solutions to this problem, and probably solutions to problems I don't know about yet.

Hi all Just a quick intro and question. After a looong time away from off road bikes I have just purchased a gasgas 300 in a vain attempt to regain some mid 40's fitness !! looking forward to getting out and about. Quick question - the VIN no on my bike starts VTRTG - when i checked the bike out, all the sites I have found list GasGas trials bike frame numbers starting with VTRGG not VTRTG. Has anyone else got a TG VIN number - or knows what it means?? Many thanks Adam

Hi all, New to this forum and returning to off road and trials riding after a looonnnng time away. I rode trials a little bit as a very young kid but then my teen and adult years have been spent on road bikes, surfboards and in, under, on and behind (pushing) a variety of mainly clapped out vans. Hoping some of you guys and gals can help me out here please. I have around £1500 burning a hole in my pocket to spend on a used trials bike for some gentle, slow speed fun in a mates field, and also a bit of green laning. The bike needs to be as reliable and user friendly as possible considering my budget and long absence from off road riding, but also have good parts …

1999 cota 315r has a broken lower right fork bracket. The front forks are Paoili 38mm. It seems to be common for the clamp to break as this one has but this one also has a hair line crack between the oil chamber and the axle. Kind of weird finding an oil leak in your front axle, anyway trying to find a replacement for it, or if that does not work out a replacement set of lowers or another set of forks. As a newbee I am not in contact with anyone involved with trials, and any advise is welcomed. If you know if the Beta 38mm lower will work please let me know which model it is. Thanks to you who made the replies in my introduction

Hi all, I'm Cyril, from south of France. I'm falling in love for old trial bike! It started when I was lend a Montesa cota 25 (kid bike) to put it back in shape for a kid (what a lucky kid!) And last week I just got my first : a Bultaco Sherpa 125cc (serie 156) Here is a little video of that little Montesa :

Hello from Boonville Indiana. A buddy and I went to trials school in TN 15 years ago and when we came back I bought a used Montesa Cota315r and he moved to Idaho. The Cota set until now as no one to ride with. Finally decided to get it out to play a little a have run into a problem. The right lower fork was cracked on the clamp. This seems to be a common problem but I have also discovered a hairline crack allowing oil to leak out thru axle clamp area. I have found a welder willing to take this on but he has asked if I can find out the metal composition of the piece. As it’s seems the Paoila 38mm lower is now an unobtainable part help any info is appreciated. If welding…

Hi, Just a quick hello. Middle aged trials hero wannabe here. I have recently got back into trails after my wife bought me an 01 Sherco 2.9. I have upgraded my son, of 7, from a PW50 to a Sherco 0.5. My wife was fed up of watching us all ride round so she sold her 02 GSXR 600 and bought an 09 Beta 2t 250 Evo which has come with issues and thats why i have found your site. I am the home mechanic and its my job to keep them all running, luckily my Sherco has been a right trooper and not thrown up any issues and has enabled me to get a lot of riding time in after being put on Furlough. I'm glued to YouTube technique videos and my riding has come on leaps n …

Hi, finally got excuse to join trials fun having inherited a late 92 Beta Zero 260 Jordi T signature bike. Heard all the Joy's of being a Beta owner. Hopefully it'll lead to adding a more recent trials model to weekend garage which has always been Enduros, but the Beta will be a sentimental resto. Came with Techo fronted and the original boxed up (assuming the following being very reason). Want to restore with the forks, labelled up as GT32 (Paioli 36mm USD), but the top cap is done up FT even though still sitting way out of the uppers and brass adjustment screw too soft to attempt impact driver. Anyone familiar with internals and can say whether its safe to con…
