  1. The problem here in the UK is that the drivers are all, with a few exeptions driving between 65 and 90 mph. Which means that the real percieved speed is at most 25mph, and in most cases 1 or 2mph in terms of the major reference point, the traffic around you. We tend to ignor the fact that we are travelling @ 70mph The brain tricks itself into thinking that we are virtually standing still, hense the frustration. Understand that its a human perception problem and your half way there. The people not paying attention to the traffic around them, appear to get in the way, but in actual fact are driving without due care and attention, but boredom and tiredness can cause this effect as well. 2. Do they grin at the colour of the rims aswell? TBH ged I think that my gas gas is a better trials bike, I think those highlands are for maniacs
  3. I think if you gonna make an appraisal of two bikes there has to be some sort of context. When the Bantam was in active service the bikes around it were heavier and more expensive so therefore so it would shine out. The modern bikes are much more powerful and lighter than the bantam so I think that both sets of bikes have thier merits. I believe that the skill is in the rider, and even the best bike in the wrong hands (mine) could be beaten by a good rider on a pogo stick, but that doesn't make the pogo stick better than the bike. Might be wrong though, I frequently am Calv'

    Txti 280 Oil

Thanks Joe, the clutch gasket has been replaced but seems to be doing its job, as a clean finger wipe around it shows no oil. It appears to be coming from the rear of the engine and if it wasn't for the gearbox oil smell I would have guessed at it be chain lube. Alas my life is never that simplethe oil is collecting on the rear portion of the bash plate.

    Txti 280 Oil

Hiya, I wonder whether anyone can help here, I have just taken delivery of a 2002 280 TXT and it appears to be weeping gearbox oil after about 2 hours of running. You know the leak which is just enough top be annoying but not enough to cause to many problems, anyway rather than removing the engine and stripping it (can't see any obvious place for the leak) I wondered whether it is model specific to weep in certain places, or are some seals weaker than others. Any help would be greatly appreciated Calv'
  7. It is worth taxing if you live close a place where you can practice, but have to cross roads. Also a road legal vehicle has a history and therfore can retain more of its value and therefore desirability.
