    Sherco Nightmare

I put some gasket seal around the oring at the top of the carb because it seemed to be leaking from there, now the bike seems fine when im riding it but will rev like mad when its either out of gear or the clutch it pulled, it seems as though the engine is now only over reving when it has no load on it.
  2. I want to anodize the rims of my sherco and have seen that you can get anodized look paint which looks like a cheaper way to do it, I also wanted to get anodized bolts on my bike but I have found that anodized bolts are usually very soft and break easily. By spraying the original bolts I would save money and stop this problem. I have seen anodized paint here but it only tells you where you can buy it in america. Where can I buy it here and how much does it cost?

    Smoking Beta

What colour is the smoke ?? If it is white you could have a water leak into your cylinder
  4. A good mod I have done to my airbox is to drill a hole in the bottom of it, then use a tap and die set to make some threads in the hole then I put in a screw with a oring. This makes it easy to drain the airbox saving the time taking it off. Although it is only 3 screws to take the airbox off I find it quite hard getting it back on because of the piece of plastic between the airbox and pipe that stops water getting past. Also it is a fast way to drain the airbox when your in a rush, eg. in a trial
  5. One of mine broke on my gas gas but you can't buy a single one they come in a pair stupid really they should be sold seperately, theres no point paying
  6. Clean your swing arm, then sticker it up then cover it with some good quality clear coating plastic. Works great and lasts quite a long time, and because the stickers are coated aswell they will stay looking new. Take your time when putting on the plastic coating so that it doesn't start lifting at the edges Another good way to do it if you dont mind how your bike looks is to get an old inner tube and cut it so it fits around your swing arm then cable tie it on

    Sherco Nightmare

I tried the propane method today and it calmed the bike down slightly, I also noticed black liquid (probably oil) started spitting from the exhaust, but I guess this would be normal as the propane is making the bike run rich.
  8. Took a better pic of my bike today...
  9. 125mph on a trials bike, I thought 60mph was scary

    Sherco Nightmare

I covered up the leak with some fibreglass resin and hardener (first thing I found) and it does seem slightly better but its still doing the same thing only now the slide can open slightly more before it does it. The slide moves smooth and I have never altered the float hight

There is a pic below

    Custom Sherco

Looks very smart, might have to give that a go. what colour would look good on a sherco
  13. The area where I usually take my bike (Gilling West) is usually quite muddy and wet and has a large stream there also, no I haven't tried an IRC but with all of the good comments about them in this post I think I might have to give one a try
  14. Got an air leak problem, think i've finally found it, Click here for my post about it in the sherco section.
  15. I find the Michelins to be the best tyres, I've always had a Michelin on my bike and had good grip in muddy conditions and they have always lasted ages. I recently changed to a pirelli and have to say its the worst tyre i've ever used, and it hasn't lasted anywhere near as long as the Michelins in the same conditions. When my bike is fixed im going straght back to Michelins

    Black Rims

No not really just use good quality paint, don't buy crap cheap stuff. Give it a coat of clear laquer aswell when its finished. When you think about it you don't hit your rims on things that often anyway and if you do all you need to do is touch it up. Im thinking about doing it too my sherco aswell but I can't decide what colour. The best thing about doing my gas gas black was that I didn't even need to take the tyres off, but im not sure black will suit a sherco, I like the gold on Joe Bakers old bike but I haven't decided yet. What colour are you thinking about for yours?

    Sherco Nightmare

There aren't any riders around here that I know of with a bike with the same carb, I do have breather tubes i just took them off while I was checking the carb for leaks. The reason the carb is dirty is that I put some grease on the oring on the top thinking it could be that, it has been totally cleaned inside. The jets are: Main: 124, Pilot: 33 The choke does sit flat I just lifted it slightly so that the part could be seen.
  18. Take it too a few and see who gives you the best offer, try white brothers, alan smith, TW, charltons... I nearly had a heart attack when he offered me

    Sherco Nightmare

I think I have found the problem Today I took the carb off and blocked off all of the places air should be able to get in, (breathers, top, inlet) I then blew through the other side of the carb and saw bubbles coming from around where the piece of metal goes through to stop the slide moving (Picture below as I'm not sure what its called). Correct me if I am wrong but I am thinking the bike idles fine because that part is sealed as the bottom of the slide is touching the carb as soon as the slide moves, the seal is broken and an air leak occurs. Could this be the problem?

    Custom Sherco

Are them plastics painted white or are they specialy made in white plastic. I think the bike suits that colour, and the gold rims.
