  1. Disregard the physical pain (usually discovered in the shower that evening and known as UTIs, or unspecified trialling injuries), that will heal. A broken mudguard won't fix itself though!

I always wondered what those dark spots are ! :)

  2. Sucking air after the carb ... Get it running again and spray some carb cleaner around the intake hose and the mainifold . if the tone changes , youve found your leak . Can also suck air at the big end seals , but thats pretty rare ...

  3. Try loosening your axle nut and the pinch bolts on the axle along with the triple clamp pinch bolts and cycle the forks gently to line every thing up . And make sure your spacers are in correctly on the axle , the hub should fit with minimal clearance to the forks so you don't bind everything up when you tighten the axle.

    Good luck

  4. Doug ; but you've got to understand , my first trials bike was a poweroll breathed on tl125 that was around 175-180cc and I only weighed about 110lbs when I rode that , had a tl250 too for a bit , got to use a RTL305 and a RTL360 for a few events ... Then I got cut off from trials thru no fault of my own .(thanks dad) In the interim I've had BSA gold stars and a XR500 to play with in the desert . I LIKE TORQUE ! none of this slip the clutch stuff , I want to idle at 500 rpm and snap the throttle open and launch ! :) (but then I'd have to get that NO FEAR attitude I had when I was a teenager !) But a good sized four stroke is for me , I love riding my freinds 4rt (that has hrc dualmapping programs and is a animal or as smooth as you could ask for ) but I can't deal with the must have high idle speed of the fuel injection . Stop or no stop sections I tend not to use my clutch much ... So I want a 4t with a accelerator pump in the carb !!!

But I still love my geared to low for most folks Fantic ...

    Glenn ;)

And on edit , there are a few reflexes in SE. ITSA that are amazing bikes , and their riders ain't no slouches either :)

And JT ; you should come up to Hendersonville ,NC. on the 21st of this month and ride the MTR event , hosted and layed out by last years natc twinshock champ ! Great Venue ... And the Holberts lay out sections just like Bob does .... class perfect !

  5. A good friend of mine gave me good advice: If you want something, spend the MOST you can afford and get the best you can find for the budget. If you don't it will end up costing you more to get LESS.

I've tried to cheat this rule several times over the years, and never beaten it!

This looks a horrendous cash hole to me and at the end you won't have anything any better that youcould have got for the money in a working state, but will spend the summer working on it (and spending on it) rather than being on it...

    +1 :agreed:

  6. I had inquired a month or so ago to RYP , I was told they are still available , just built to order ... Still thinking about one ...

  7. I'm waiting for a photo he's supposed to be sending , I hate waiting , cause I need another bike to use while I replate my trusty 240's cylinder ! I'd even get one of the last aircooled's if thats what it is ... Not krazy about k roo's though ... A late section would work though...

    Glenn

And would it be sacrilegious if I put a Fresh TY80 motor into the 50cc fm330 I've got ? P6 minereli parts are kinda hard to come by and it would be a easy swap ...?!?

  8. Has anyone ever seen or owned a 1998 C@sta ? And is it just a '97 section with reduced plastic covers ...

I'm going to go look at a (the owner says) 1998 Fantic 250 ... Thats about all he could tell me about the bike ...

I just figure if I'm gonna get a modern bike , I need the newest Fantic I can find ! :)

  9. It's all very well putting the onus on the local club, but the area concerned, given its acreage its impossible to "police". However, the evidence is there - tyre tracks, could be anybody!

However, they do have a novel way in the hills near Madrid, Spain of stamping out illegal riding and practicing - they chase you with a two-manned helicopter and the Police are armed - fact!

    Big John

Works for me !!! You fine folks have kept the SSDT running thru all the B.S. of the last hundred years (depressions , world wars , extreme greenies , etc. etc.) Would it be possible to place a motion detecting camera or 2 in the areas of concern ? I couldn't handle my bucket list prime item taken away by a moron ...

    Glenn

  10. Makes me appreciate my trusty 240 pro even more

and it was NO STOP ! Makes it worth watching!!

Can't wait till this weekends event ;)

    Thanks,

    Glenn
