hello not a big fan off moding the bultacos aprt from moden foot pegs i like them standard. but as above it's what you want i had a bultaco sherpa 199b it was moded didn't like it at all so i sold it i was lucky some 1 bought it for a good price. on that 1 the head stock had been done the S/Arm had been made longer and brought forward. also had honda wheels on it with R/H hub dint handle any better then my standard 199B not trying to give you a hard time just my option. am sure there will be lots more advice given. there's alot you can do to the bike with out moding it to make it ride better. like magical springs and caps on the forks rockshocks on the rear good carb set up and have the exhaust repacked. all helps make the bike run and ride better. hope this has helped.

hi hear are a spare 198A and 198B S/Arms both same size. the 198A as new bushes in them the 198b Arms need new bushes

greeves you will be lucky to find 1 off thoes tanks. i bought the new Alloy tank from inmotion same shape as a plastic tank but they do look very nice once painted. sadly i sold the bike but do intend to buy another from inmotion for my 199B i will Measure the 198B S/Arm.

yes i understand then your better off just looking on ebay.

if you don't want to pay for new side panels just keep an eye on ebay they come up now and again. but you can buy brand new ones but they only come in pairs think there £47 i sold loads early this year i only normaly use new parts. but can cost alot.

that looks like a alloy tank with the dent in it.

the 198B S/Arms look like this.

also seat it not the correct 1 looks like a fiber glass tank? see what you mean about the frame.

thoes are not original 198B S/Arms looks like some 1 has made them.

if it has the loop then the frame will be the 198A frame the Bs do not have the loop as you know. the only way to tell is looking at the engine number sounds to me it just may be the S/Arm off the 198B or the 199B

on the other hand you could have a 198B model have you checked the engine and frame numbers? is the bike white are blue?

hello sounds like some 1 as put the 198B 199B later S/Arm on the 198A the box section S/Arm was only introduce in 1981 witch was the 198B model. i have a 198A frame and S/Arm spare with new bushes in them. but i do have 2 spare 199b S/arms i was thinking off doing the same on my 198A frame they are stronger. but i do like to keep them original. hope this helps.

it would be worth while welding a bit off steel rod down the back off the headsteady they do crack on the weak pot my 199b has the rod welded on it you can easy make 1 out off tubing make it flat on bothe ends and shap it drill the holes in the flat ends job done.

that explains it then.i was confused as my 199B has the grease nipples. i gess i could put some in before i have it sand blasted and painted. cheers

ive just required a 198B and S/Arm the frame is bent the S/Arm seems straight tho i did a test by holding the boss off the bush housing up to a straight edge no gaps. i plan on having the frame sorted and blasted and back to it's former glory in white. my question is on some off the later S/Arms did they not bother putting grease nipples on the bushes? just this 1 is blank there are no holes and it's not been filled as it;s bare metal.

woody i was just pointing this out has we don't know what model trum has.

had the same problem only mine had snap at the base.so had to drill it out then i had to put a hellicoil in it bought a new studd from inmotion this was a few years ago. they may still have some if not you should easy get some made. make sure the rear leaft hand studd needs to be slightly longer to take the headsteady as woody said depends on what model you have.
