  1. hi Craigh88, if you still have the original pump shaft/seal fitted, this part will sit on your shelf for ever because that seal is for the updated water pump, if you buy the the water pump kit, part no.MT280010106 you will get the updated version. i would recommend replacing the shaft bearings (6000-C3) also
  2. hi DEV1975, as TLTEL commented the dellorto phbl carb has a fuel screw not an air screw and should be 3 - 4 turns out. i had idle problems like yours and found the reed valves not closing properly due to a small piece of rubber between the reed block and reeds. fitting the black carb cover can be tricky, i find it easier if you 'stick' the o ring to the cover with a little silicon grease to hold it in place as you line up the tab & slot. hope this helps
  3. hi HoggyF, on my engine there is a number stamped next to the spark plug which matches the cc and year of my bike, eg. 25T99, and can only be seen with the fuel tank off.
  4. you can also try increasing your revs then from 2nd gear select neutral, not sure how the higher revs looses clutch drag but seems to work.
  5. hi dan, i found this linkuseful for info on the ty yamaha, hope this helps.
  6. hi, if you look closely on the ring you will see the timing mark line, you will have to decide how to transfer this to the flywheel, either with a center punch dot or what i did was when i cut off the ring with a hand hacksaw i just cut down the timing line till i was about 1mm from touching the flywheel then made a small mark on the inner end of flywheel with the saw blade, the remaining 1mm will break off by putting a thin bladed chisel or screwdriver in the end of the hacksaw cut and tap with a hammer. its not advisable to use heat on the flywheel due to it distorting or the magnets shattering. i have added a photo of my R flywheel on the right and the weight ring off my my spare flywheel on the left.
  7. Hi trialtrial, according to your weight width of 28mm the flywheel you have is fitted to the 'street' version of the ty250, as opposed to the weight width of 17.5mm that is fitted to the 'R' (competition) version. i have tried the 3 options of flywheel weight and much prefer all the weight removed on my standard engine.
