    Brake Pedal

There is some aftermarket ones floating about online that may be worth looking into?
  2. Seals should be ok, he welded it quickly and cooled it quickly. Will find out when it runs. Have a day off tomorrow so will have it back together and hopefully here some "put put puts" hope everyone's enjoying there bikes
  3. Today was a busy day in the quest for a running bike.. Had the kickstart part welded (it was an actual bike garage so they knew about the seals etc) have the engine back in after a nice freshen up and sorting few issues. Just have to tighten the bolts, tension the wheel/chain (any tips on the best way to do this?) Been called offshore again so may not get back onto it for a while.. Roll on bad weather!
  4. After a day to think about it I have decided I'm going to do as much as I can for as little cost as possible. Hopefully have it running by the weekend unless I get called offshore !
  5. Also, I was like 14 when I had the bike.. I never worked on it, just rid it how it was when I was given it..
  6. Its an old bike that's not worth anything, I don't want to spend £100's on it to realise it needs alot more work and it will end up costing more than I can buy one for. I have been offered a real good TX270 for £650.. I could spend that fixing up mine!
  7. Today is the day I set fire to my bike, piece of s**t
  8. Sounds that way. Maybe worth changing oil. Cheap option and if it doesn't sort it just reuse it after you Change the plates
  9. There is a great set up video on the Gas Gas youtube page by Jim Snell

    Clutch Bleeding

Its not the standard set up I don't think. I have found a new AJP set up for £70 from trials and tribulations
  11. Sounds like clutch slip. Is the oil dark? Smells burnt?

    Clutch Bleeding

Gave up in the end, even with the hose off I couldn't get a dribble out of the master, I took the lever off and all the inside is bent up! Are these fairly universal? Would an eBay £60 Chavvy annodized one do the job?

    Clutch Bleeding

Hey guys, having massive problems bleeding my clutch. For a feeling the master cylinder is dead but looking at the cost of a new one I hope someone has a suggestion for me.. I have no lever at all, just soft and floppy. I have tried back bleeding with no luck, the first syringe blew bubbles in the reservoir which was obviously good but after that nothing is happening! The syringe just blows off the pipe as there is too much pressure. Does it sound like the master cylinder is blocked? Worth trying to unblock it? The hose is clear and its a new banjo/bleed nipple. Any help appreciated. Thanks
  14. That's alot of money for a bit of plastic though. Could you not just Run cone filter? Then jet/tune carb to match?
  15. I'm sure it will run in the next few kicks, its just getting the kickstart sorted that's the problem. I can't find anything online that matches
  16. How do you get the prices? I see the US site mentions our bikes but the UK site only mentions the later bikes
  17. Its just getting expensive now, kick start £100ish new, master cylinder (£don't dare look) chain and sprockets, tyres and tubes (left them set at around 4psi so tyres which were new have massive cracks and splits in sidewalls) and that's before I no doubt realise the clutch internals are knackered haha. Once I hear it run I will be happy enough to spend on it but getting to that stage is getting a bit too much!
  18. When I look at yours it makes me want to keep going
  19. Just received a reply, that's also 16mm shaft so no use to me Gave up with kickstart, figured I would try and bleed clutch and bump start her.. After half hour of messing around trying to bleed it with no luck at all (both pumping lever and syringe back bleeding) I decided to remove the hose, with the resovoir full and the hose off, no fluid flowed when I pulled lever? Surely it should empty its self once the lever is pulled? At this point I put it away and gave up. Its one thing after another and getting boring now!
  20. I did see that, I noticed it doesn't have a pinch bolt to secure it though? Unsure how these type are held on? Many thanks
  21. I'm really worried about spending out £100 on a kickstart lever and the bike still needing loads to get it running, I have found similar bikes on eBay in good condition for around £900 so seems silly wasting on this. As I said earlier on, if it runs and rides ok I'm happy to throw money t it and fully restore but I just need to hearing run before I commit. Could you take a quick picture of your kickstart please Coop? I have found a few cheaper ones online just unsure if they will work or not! Cheers
  22. Thought so, hope it doesn't effect it too much. Used to ride spot on so can't imagine it would. I know its not ideal but I'm hopefully having the original kickstart tack welded on tomorrow. I'm having it done in such a way that I can grind it off and still fit a new one when i order one but to be honest I have been looking at complete new engines online!
  23. Will stick the front pipe back on tomorrow. Piston cleaned.. I noticed this on the head.. You can feel it quite alot with your fingers? Any idea what this is? Cheere
  24. Great to here off to clean it I go
  25. I did think that but when I heard the suction noise as the piston went down it had me worried. Suppose all I can do is clean the top of the piston with brake cleaner and wire brush (gently?) refit it all tommorow and see what happens?
