  1. I did try that before i fixed the manifold leak and was just about to try it again, but i decided to chuck dad's TY tank on her to bypass the fuel pump and it seemed to run a lot better. Do you know what could be wrong with my pump? Thanks
  2. What do you mean running weak? do you mean lean? Do you know what goes on with the pumps?
  3. Having a bit of trouble with with rev hang on my 2013 300. It started to hang revs a little, and it gradually became worse and worse until it was unrideable. So i parked it for over a year now while I rode my beta! I now need to fix this because i need to sell this bike. I've cleaned the carby over a dozen times and set float height. My inlet manifold was leaking so I replaced that. Reeds were a little bent so i flipped them around and now they look good. Did crank seals but still no change. Doesn't rev hang at 1/2 turn out on the air screw but runs quite rough. Jets are: main-125 Pilot- 45 Cheers.
  4. Hi Guys, Just doing a check on my top end and wondering what the ring gap for my 2013 Sherco 300 is supposed to be. Cheers, Zac.
  5. Hi skipcheck, I think i may have the same issue with my 2013 300. I notice it a while ago but have kept using it as it is. I'm assuming yours stick out a bit like this right? I noticed the problem and pulled my lever assembly apart. If yours is the same the problem, it isn't the splined kickstarter shaft itself, the problem is this part: As you can see the shaft where the main kick starter goes onto is actually bent. Maybe the 300's do it because they are harder to kick over? Another angle: I haven't bothered to fix mine but i highly advise you do. Over time it keeps bending and starts to rub on the frame in this area It also starts to wear away the kick starter like this Hope this helps, Cheers, Zac.
  6. Hey guys, I've been having a bit of trouble with my clutch recently. I'm just wondering if anybody knows the minimum plate thickness for my bike. The clutch is lagging a bit once I let it out under high revs. I've already changed the oil and it made it a little better but it still drags a bit, I changed oil from Maxima to GRO and it seams better to me. I've also bled (is that how i spell it?? haha) the clutch but that made no difference at all. Cheers, Zac.
  7. Hi guys, finally was able to upload a video. My computer doesn't like to cooperate with me most of the time. Here is the successful splat with a few crashes too. Cheers
  8. Yeah I suppose, but even on the big obstacles I do I prefer not to use a spotter because they get in the way haha.
  9. Damn, crashes are the best part! Saw your video, enjoyed watching it. Cheers, see you there soon.
  10. Those are some nice legs at 5:55 haha. Great video mate.
  11. Haha ok then. The obstacle would be easy for me to get up if the kicker was closer to the big tyre, the kicker had to be further back because there was a smaller tyre poking out of the ground making it impossible to put the kicker in the right spot. I don't need a spotter, did you see me hurt myself? Did I break my bike? Nope. I am fully capable of doing this but I just need to get the technique a bit better. Hope to have another go this Thursday.
  12. That is true. Thanks. Have you been down to OMCC yet?
  13. It also came with the TY front end too just missing the wheel spacer, not sure if it is original to the bike though. It could have been crashed, I will have a better look tomorrow. Cheers.
  14. Ah, ok, that makes a bit of sense, but the owner said that the bike was never used in competition, only around the farm then stored, So I don't know about the being purposely bent but it's a possibility.
  15. By the way the guy put a DT250 front end on it for some reason.
  16. Hi all, The other day we went and picked up a Ty that my Dad had bought off a guy on eBay for a new project. The bike isn't in the best condition but it has a really strong engine with no rattles. And the bash plate has barely any scratches showing that it has had very little use too. But once we got it home we noticed that the front down-tubes on the frame were bent. He has three other 250's (an "A",a "B", and an "E") and none of them have bent tubes. There are no signs of dents on the tubes or any damage at all really. So I was just wondering if anybody has seen this before. Could it be factory? Or is it just damaged? Cheers, Zac P.S, Sorry for the bad photos.
  17. Yeah, definately a '78, Dad has one in the shed the same.
  18. No reason really, just thought I'd give it a go.
  19. Thanks. I will keep trying and hopefully post a video of a successful ride soon.
  20. Hey guys, Just thought I'd post a video that I uploaded to Youtube of me attempting a Splat. Contains CRASHES. Cheers, Zac.
  21. I'm pretty sure the Magneto side cover wouldn't work either. The TY's bolt holes are on the inner side case's edge, and the IT's bolt holes are on the ouside. You can see this in the pictures above.
  22. The frames used to crack around the top engine mount where the petrol tank is. The cracking is caused by the force transferring up from the bashplate through the engine and up to the top motor mount causing stess up there. I saw one guy on this forum who had his crack in the head tube area, i'm not sure that is as common as the other cracking areas. When i bought my 2009, it had already had a frame change from the previous owner and i was told that the swing arm was also updated but it turns out it wasn't. I ended up cracking the swingarm in 3 places (not all the way through) and luckily I bought it from the beta dealer down here so he happily replaced it for me. The area where the swing arm cracked was on the underside hollowed out bit where the bracing is. The cracking is more common to riders who go hard, but you really need to keep an eye on it just in case, even if you aren't doing big stuff. Zac.
  23. Haha, thats my dad. i askes him to keep the enthusiasm levels down but he couldn't help himself.
  24. Are you talking about the sun?
