  1. i,v got a feeling that the cr clutch never changed. its the same one for the 250 as the 500. if you just get clutch plates fromm a 98 cr then it should be fine
  2. all i do is run at a slightly richer oil to petrol mix, say 50:1 instead of 75:1 and put 2 tanks of fuel through it. obviously start off easy with the revs. and dont let the engine labour. then get progreesivly more aggressive with the revs until the 2 tanks are gone. there run in.
  3. yeah cheers dave. hows your leaking petrol tank. bike hasn't caught fire yet then. nice
  4. cheers for all that mate. it seems i don't check it often enough. every 3 rides or so. it think ignorance has just put a big hole in my pocket. never mind. have learnt a big lesson.
  5. had a slight problem with my 99 315 yesterday. was riding all day but the bike seemed to be knocking more and more. washed it off and stripped it down to find that the engine is full of sand. lovely. traced the problem back to sandy water that was getting in the airbox. hadn't done any wading (its not a landrover). has anyone out there got any good ideas on making the airbox a tad more watertight as im sure you'll imagine i'm facing a rather large bill now and i dont want it happening again. cheers
  6. i'd get some hebo bars but DONT cut them down as you loose all contol of the bike.

    315 Gearing

this has probably been asked before but what is the standard gearing for a 315 moedel year 99. mine seems to have a mahoosive jump from 3rd to 4th. what gearing do you guys use? cheers.
  8. no problem mate. i wouldn't have used them. it turns out that i've got a caliper that takes gas gas pads . good job i knew this when i ordered them eh.
  9. i have just purchased some galfer rear brake pads for a 315 but found that my caliper was a non original one. therefore if anyone wants them for the price of the postage then drop me an email. gguppers10@aol.com. the galfer part number is 224.
  10. yes it does mate. if i'd have caught them at it i would've killed them. the police might have been interested then. i'll keep my eye out on ebay. cheers.
  11. please help. my brothers gas gas jt 350 was stolen on tuesday night( the 21/3/06) from kingsteignton in devon . frame number is VTRGG329509940120. the bike has a 250 rear mudguard(red) and a white tank. also has a new red rear sprocket. the bike was in VERY clean condition. almost as new. any info that leads to the recovery of this bike will be deeply appreciated. call 07977229746. thanks
  12. that extra base gasket really did the trick. not a hint of pinking even on normal shi**y unleaded. sorted! now, off for a pint
  13. thanks for that husky. i will try that extra base gasket this weekend as i cant see it being the timing as we haven't touched any settings on the bike at all. we are running in optimax at the moment with castrol tt oil which i've never had any problems with. i'll let you know how i get on.
  14. yeah. sorry bout that. had a dim moment, or 8??!!!!
  15. hi. i am new to this forum malarky so please bear with me. i am posting this for my brother as he has no access to the internet. we have just rebuilt his 1995 jt350 with a new piston and rings ect. now there is a quite bad pinking problem that definatly wasn't there before. we have rung up biketec and they said something about using 2 base gaskets has anyone out there ever heard of this as he is afraid to ride it incase it all melts. cheers.
