    2008 Refresh

Sounds very tight but the problem you have is that your heating the hole crank up . What you need to do is warm up the main bearing where the crank slips into but warm it up with a hot air gun and it will tap out easily.
  2. Well I'm leaning towards the evo 300 but not the supper soft as I like a good strong motor or is it more to do with the throttle being more precise as in more travel which opens the throtle slide less sort of thing
  3. Sounds like my sort of bike lol yeah I know they wouldn't be able to do so. I will be using it as a road bike for work some days of the week as well to ride to my locale wood, would I have to run a stronger oil fuel mix if ridding on the road as 70.1 seems abit week for road ridding or has any one had no problems as I know they sit at idle and burst of throtle for obstacles ect. As I know it would tequer up jetting due to more oil being mixed with the fuel .
  4. yeah I know hence why I'm looking at an evo but not too sure about the 2016 on wards as I know they changed the engine for the sake of the eu emissions so I'm unsure how the power delivery is as I like a good strong snap of power up and go but good low end torque as well , does any one know where is best to test ride them if shops allow that ?
  5. What are the main differences ie power suspension ect brakes . Thanks
  6. Yeah I gues so for the extra oomph won't bother me if got a few sports bikes ect 1000cc so a 300 is alot softer but has power on tap but more torque I'd guess. But I'd like to know more on the differences of the evo and rev 3 . Cheers

  13. hi sounds like you need to clean the carb out or you have a realy dirty air filter but to be fair start with the carb then the spark plug as well as did u mix the fuel and oil correctly

    Fan

Ok well I have replaced the cases as it did have the typical corrosion problem I have just ordered a impeller for the water pump . But I can't see why it should run on unless the radiator is partially blocked not cooling the coolant properly

    Fan

Hi do the fans constantly run on trials bikes in a wooded up area where there is no moving air passing through the radiator as my rev 3 fan seems to run constantly if im in the woods climbing up hills and if I leave it idling it doesn't stop nore a slight hire revs off idle It doesn't ither .but could I have a blocked radiatore
  16. Hi all my friend is going to purchase a 2002 txt 250 and would like to know what to look out for and what are the pros and cons are on this year of bike as the price is right for him but just wants to know what goes wrong with them that can be hidden antill found on a strip down ie clutch gear box you know the random stuff or cracked frames , chears

    Rebuild

Hi does any one know when to re build the engines on a rev 3 as a mine sounds abit rough when kicking over with no plug well slowly if ur check the spark and sounds like my mains are abit rough . And was wo during where to find torque settings for casing and head nuts chears
  18. You should use mineral oil to help run in the rings to the bore . Synthetic oils are to slippery and dont allow the rings to seat in or take any high spots off . Run your normale oil ratio or drop it slightly But do 3 heat cycles run up the bike let it get hot switch off a low to cool and repeat . Ride it but do not labor the engine or rev it hard for too long . Ride it for 20 minutes around a field with no hills so it's not laboring . Switch off and alow it to cool then ride it again and go abit faster id suggest after doing this 3 times strip down the barrel and inspect how the bore looks for even wear all way round . One other thing you must check the rING gaps in the bore as well normale you should have a 0.02 mm to 0.05mm ring gap . And remember cast iron blocks heat up slower than the aluminium piston so antill it looks like every thing is worn in nicely id say it's readdy for normale ridding .
  19. 70/1 is the mixture ratio so 70 mls oil to 5 litters petrol
  20. Chears for the help and info . One other thing how do I know when a trial is on near me as I want to have a go as practice is fun but putting the preasure on is even more fun . I live in Shropshire near marked drayton telford Shrewsbury area . Thanks ian b

    Amca

Hi has any one robe a trial event with the amca as a guest . I'm just wo during what the costs are as I know from mx a day licence can cost 50 to 60 quid . But on a trial is it any less . Thanks ian b
  22. You have to check your plug it is the only indication to how you engine is running so if it's white I would jet it up one to two sizes at a time and check the plug it should be a biscuit brown colour. If your going from 50.1 to 100.1 it's a 50% cut I oil which will make it run rich but adding more oil can lean off the mixture . But its up to you what you do just don't kick some one down who is advising you.
  23. Well it won't seize at 100.1 but it will wear out faster and run hot . But running more oil at 50.1 will increase power as it will seal the the piston rings and allow less risk of seizure if you fall off and the bike reves up . And remember you must re jet the carb if you move to diferent oil ratios so if your manufacturer sais to run 70.1 and you go 50.1 you must increase the jet sizes as you will run lean and seize up the engine and vise versa if going less oil you will run rich
  24. Be careful adding more oil than recommended as the jetting may only be set for that oil ratio and adding more will make your bike run lean and will cease it up so all way re jet the carb if u are wanting a stronger oil ratio
  25. I never thought you could buy a low compresion heads for trials bikes . Try vhm they do cylinder heads for motocross bikes but not sure if they did for trials .
