This is what my casing looks like with the hole on the left of the water pump casing but this is a picture of a 2001 engine just so every one knows what im on about as it may not make sense what im on about thanks ian

Ow ok so it has two water passages as I thought some one might of put a 2001 engine in the 06 frame .as the water flows from the pump to the block though the engine with out two pipes . And looking at new cases for a 06 the hole is blanked off that goes through the case to the crank casing which made me think iv got a wrong engine for year of bike . Thanks ian

Hi just wondering what the water passage through the clutch case is for or should it not have one as I do need a new case as mine is corroded,if you remove the water pump cover to reveal the water pump to the left of the water channel it has a hole through to the other side of the engine . it has two coolant pipes on the water pump cover so im confused to where the watter flow goes should it circulate from the pump through the coolant pipe to the exhaust and up to the head or does it circulate the water round the exhaust to warm it up faster . thanks
  4. Ok sounds right . Worth checking the fan isn't running when you first start up the bike from cold . Hope its just in need of a good run and works out good for you
  5. Ok how much oil are you adding to the 1 liter of fuel at a time
  6. hmmm I wonder if you have a crank seal gone or your statore could be going as this would cause a weak spark under load , my plug is 7 and il look at it tomorrow to see what its burning like .are you shaking the fuel properly to mix the oil up , how are you mixing the oil and fuel. and are you turning the choke off as soon as it starts and not ridding with it on , sorry for all the questions just trying to cover the basics

Ho all what is the numbers for on the bottom yoke or has my bike got data frame numbers for theft registered bike ?
  9. Don't worry we all get caught out no one knows every thing we only can learn from mistakes . I just recently bought a 06 rev 3 250 and missed a slight water leek which should have been picked up but is my fault for not taking a torch .but every one on here is verry helpfull so your not alone . Hope it runs sweet as a nut
  10. Ok sounds good but hey seem to have leaned off the main jet . Rather they should have made the pilot jet smaller as your main jet only controles the fuel mixture at full throttle . I would check the needle hight as well to see if it has been dropped to try and lean off the fuel or lifted as some get confused where to put the E clip . I would set the main jet back to 150 as it was set up to run the oil mix at 66.1. Yha i would lift the wheel up to check for binding as well if it's not just rough the pads up as it could be glazed up
  11. Hi just a pointer running less oil will make the fuel mixture rich and running more oil will lean off the mixture so if you want to use less oil you should adjust your jets to suite plus different temperatures will affect jetting and running , the pilot jest screw is only going to richen or weaken the pilot jet off idle , you should ring beta uk to see what oil fuel ratio you should run with the jetting if its stock , plus two stroke engines don't like to be ticking over as you need to get the heat in to allow the pug to work correctly to burn the fuel off , a perfect air fuel mixture and right jetting should coulor the plug a biscuit brown and you know you are spot on . but I don't think you will be able to see that as the engines are never flat out . if it were a oily plug id say too much oil but your plug is sooty suggesting its too rich , id drop to the next two sizes smaller on the main jet and on the pilot jest and see what happens . I use rock air filter oil soak the filter squiz out the excess oil allow to dry for 24 hours and its all good and use the air filter cleaners as they do not melt the foam and get all the oil out. check the ignition timing is spot on as well could be slightly retarded

Well the bike rides ok it's just the poor information given with watter leaks . The other funny thing was I checked the wheel bearings and the rear had play and ge said he had just replaced them and he blatantly had not as well as the gear box oil had been changed but had not as it is dirty brown . And I can't even give him feed back on ebay . I'll ring him tomorrow as there are alot of bikes 100 quid cheaper that are in a better condition.

Well the power isue could just be me as im used to my mx bike rm 250 and that lays down the power Pritty hard at 50 brake but I gues a trials bike is less power but more torque. Or could it be down to how it's been geared down as 1st is all most like walking pace . Does any one know the standard sprocket sizes .chears ian

Hi thanks did that frame check and it sais it was made in 05 but the stickers show it's a 06 . I gues its preproduction ready for 06 market . How do I post a picture of it on here .Ok my front pipe has a seem all the way to the joint of the next joint of the exhaust .

It's a 2006 with black forks Was off eBay iv herd the 10th number is the year of the bike but not sure if it's true as it would make it's a 2005 .

Yha i know but it doesn't say the cc any where just looked at the Web site and it doesn't show anything to check fram and engine numbers . Just got righting but nothing to state cc . Seems stupid to not have anything to say what it it
  20. burns1989 posted a topic in Beta
Hi how do you tell the difference of a 125 and 250 rev 3 as it does not state any where to say what cc it is . And my bike seems not to have the same pull that my techno had and seems abit tame

Ok I use rock oil comp 2 for my mx bikes is this ok or should I use somthing more aimed at trials bikes. Well iv got air filter oil and cleaner so that's no trouble for me . Yha plating is 120 from Lancort and a good piston I gues is 80 to 90 quid . I'm a mechanic just need the specs and tolerances and im ok . Looking at the pics of the bike the oil is brown so I think its ok but u never know . If the casing has gone how much is a new one . Yha linkages need top services and fresh greas every 3 months I do mine .Ok so there isn't any travel lost with the rear shock set up . Chears ian
  24. burns1989 replied to burns1989's topic in Beta
Thanks but how will I know if it's a magnesium case and how can I check it for leaking . Ok I gues every ride out il do air filter and 1 hour on gear oil .

Hi all im new to this game from just coming from mx to do trials for the winter . Any way I have bought a 2006 rev 3 250 and was wondering what the rear suspension is like as it's got a direct link from the shock to frame . Is this not as beneficial as a linkage set up . As in some ways it is just a twin shock but a single shock . I'm picking the bike up next weekend. How often is the air filter cleaned and gear box oil changed as a mx bike its a fresh air filter every race meeting and 3 races before gear box oil change . As well how often is a engine rebuild needed as running such a lean oil mixture must starve the engine of lubracation causing faster engine wear . Pleas corect me id I have anything wrong thanks ian from the uk
