  1. I attached a 12v battery to a blue wire that seems to go up towards the rectifier, under the tank, and the fan works fine. But when l connect the 2 wires from the thermostat together, it does not work? With engine running, and revved up. Could it be the stater not working? or could it be the rectifier? Any pointers how to check what bit's working, l do have a volt meter. Many Thanks John
  2. Thanks someone message me, to use Galfer pads, they have just arrived will see how l go with these.
  3. I have PDF files of the blow up of the frame engine parts etc. So was just after the fluids that it did not list Thanks
  4. I would like to know about Scorpa 250 easy fluid amounts? Fork legs: oil amount/spec and air gap Gear box oil: Amount and spec? Engine oil if seperate? Amount and spec? Any other helpful info appreciated. TIA
  5. Just brought a Scorpa 250 easy 1997 Have done one trial on it, and found the brakes a bit to be desired, they are working , but no real bite or feel, pads look good with a fair bit of meat on them. The levers give a solid feel, but a dead feel, so are not spongy. Seen on line EBC or sintered pads and others all different prices, which are the best to get? Any Thoughts appreciated. TIA
  6. I just received a nice new chain tensioner from tytrials, for a ty80 went to fit it, to find the lug that it fits to under the swinging arm is missing, so any advice appreciated the best way forward, my thoughts are if some kind sole to take pictures of theirs and measurements so l can get something similar welded on. Or as said any other thoughts would be appreciated, to get this fitted. TIA
  7. I went for a bike that l just liked the look of, and ended up with Montesa 349, all l can say that the power is no way a problem, at the moment it's totally pilot error that's to blame. If anything the weight of the bike is an issue, but once l get trials fit, this should not be a problem either. Looking forward to my third trial, l really feel like a novice, as all my riding was done 35 years ago, mainly trail riding, but when will l do my next trial? As l have a month or more of family stuff to attend to.
  8. Thanks for the great replies guys, lots to go on there, much appreciated. Will let you know how we get on. Cheers John
  9. I have 2 foster kids,9 and 11 year old who are interested in doing trials, or maybe they just want to ride motorbikes as l do. I have found a place, that is way up north which looks ideal, but means loads of driving to get there, as l am on the south coast. So may take the fun out of a weekend away, 10 - 12 hrs driving Looked on the web, no joy for South East, looking for something within a 3hr drive out of Worthing. So does anyone know of a place, they can give trials a go, before l invest in bike/bikes for them. Or should l just invest in a bike and teach them myself Thanks.
  10. Another couple of questions for you guys?? 1. Is there a fix so that neutral can be found easier, l read on here or somewhere that there was? My second trial today, it was a pain to find neutral but sometimes very hard, what was weird at the end when the bike was really hot, it got easier.? 2. can you get an electronic ignition for a 349? TIA
  11. when you buy with beer goggles, you enjoy the ride, in the morning things don't look as good, but l am still happy with my new girl.
  12. I have gone with the oil from my road bike scotoiler, as had been said about cost, no extra outlay for this as l always have some for my road bike, did my first trial yesterday, after washing the bike down afterwards the chain looked good, I also now think a grease will attract to much dirt & grit.
  13. here is my new toy, only 2 weeks old to me, but a 47 year old bike. well please with it, only reason l purchased it was l just liked the look of it. first trial on it yesterday, in 35 years, went ok other than the front wheel stop turning, as the mudguard is to low, and lots of sticky clay, so was left with a rudder to steer me, but not in the direction l wanted to go. lots learn on my first outing, should be sorted for the next trial.
