  1. Its a big change thats for sure! a seat for the same price as 1 Jitsie master cylinder cap
  2. My seat arrived today, I have to say its good quality for the price! I used the same mounting method as denisesewa by cutting some plastic tabs off with a dremel and cutting a keyhole. A raised bolt was used where the plastcs attach at the front of the Beta Techno which the keyhole slid into, at the rear of the seat i had a bolt coming down from the plastic underbelly of the seat that slid through a drilled hole in the rear mudguard with a nut through the other side. The seat is almost like its made for the Beta and looks really good without restricting movement for trials, yet is high enough to sit on the road or between sections. I had a quick look on my Gas Gas to see if it would work and it seems so, it doesnt sit as flush with the frame but still looks fine and is an okay height. I will order a second seat for my Gas Gas soon and if theres enough interest I will make a thread with a step by step guide to mounting a pitbike seat. Heres some pics: Here you can see the parts that needed cut out to fit the Beta: Happy new year everybody!
  3. My Gas Gas 200 has a flywheel weight, after riding my mates Sherco 125 it is actually alot easier to control my 200, it feels more tame yet has the same responsiveness and far more grunt on the climbs, also never stalling is an added bonus
  4. Cumberland County MCC is probably the closest for you, if im right the beginner sections start around February time, im a beginner in the club so if you were looking for someone to tag along with then that would be more than welcome, although I am pretty bad!
  5. Ah brilliant! cant wait for mine to come to fit now, thanks for all the help and pics!
  6. Will do, the seat will be here within the next week so I will give it a try and post some picture up, thanks for the help everyone!
  7. Ah yeah, I have been following your super mini build, its going great and I love seeing updates on the post! keep up the good work! Did you attach the seat permanently or with velcro?
  8. The montesa seat would be perfect, but its pretty pricey and theres no guarantee it could be adapted, the cheapest one on ebay is £150, and for that I couldnt justify hacking it up with no guarantee of it working.
  9. My dad rides a Beta Techno aswell, he has troubles riding with me for long days due to having bad knees and wrists due to a motorbike accident when he was younger. He sits on the regular Techno plasics, which is obviously very hard to control as its so low, so I will order a high pitbike seat ( only £12 on ebay ) for him and if it fits on mine aswell I will order one
  10. Ah yeah, thats the same as the Jitsie removable seat, but I wonder if it would be high enough for comfortable riding? im worried the low position could cause bad cramps etc. That looks a good idea with good height, I will look into making one like that if I dont find anything Looks similar to the Jitsie seat, would like to see what it looks like on a bike though
  11. By seat insert do you mean the ones that replace a panel on the bike? Like the airbox cover on my Gas Gas?
  12. So heres a weird one for you all, I ride trials on my Gas Gas TXT Pro 200, but only one of the guys I ride with is on a trials bike (Sherco 125) We have both started riding some enduro and singletrack with some other guys we know who are on enduro and motocross bikes. Our bikes are coping fine with the terrain and we are both really enjoying it, but I have to say, after a few hours (and refuels lol) im getting sore from standing, it would be nice to have a removable seat so I can still compete in trials, yet be able to do some light trail riding on the side. Is there anything that would cover this? or will I have to make something. I have seen the Jitsie seat but it seems too low really for my height and I would like something a little higher. What do you all think would be the best option? Glynn
  13. I spotted one or two trials bikes in the movie, I got home and done a search to find it was a Gasser
  14. Hi, I bought a Gas Gas TXT Pro 125 (2003) about 6 months ago, the previous owner claimed to of changed the fork seals before the sale and said that they always leak, I think he may off put the wrong oil in as it seems very thin. Before changing the seals I would like to replace the oil and see if it stops, what is a good oil to use and how much do they hold? Cheers Glynn
  15. Thanks for the help I will ask on the day
  16. Hi I cant seem to find anything only about the meanings of each trials flag? is it different depending on what club you are in? if not could someone please explain what each flag means? easy route, clubman etc. The reason I ask is because I have a trial this Sunday, so I want to be prepared and know what route to follow . Cheers Glynn
  17. Oil shouldnt really make much of a difference, you should use maybe 15-20 more ml when using mineral oil but you are best off sticking with synthetic if you can. Although when I first got my Gas Gas I was running a 50:1 mix with mineral oil (non synthetic) and it done no harm. But really its all down to preference if you use 50:1 or 80:1 etc, some people use low amounts of oil for less smoke, but I would rather be on the safe side. No harm with a little smoke.
  18. I have a Gas Gas TXT 125 pro the same as yours but a year older. I use a 50:1 mix which is 100ml to 5 litres. Some people run them more lean at about 80:1 mix and some as high as 30:1 mix. Although everyone has their own preference you will never go wrong with a 50:1 mix...
  19. As a few people on my introduction thread (I am new to trials aswell), practice regularly and make sure to keep your feet up. You can buy some tent pegs and lay out a little trials course and try go round it with your feet up and then gradually make it harder. I tried this last weekend and it works very well . Another good thing to try is to attempt to balance on your bike with your legs apart, the wheel full lock either way and the engine on (keeps the bike stable through gyroscopic force), once you can do this well try it with the engine off. I have found this works very well. Have a look at this trials training channel on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ6Lrqmphte_EJv-vjzj5gg Nice to meet you Glynn
  20. Okay thank you , regarding the grass, I usually ride on gravel but soon I will be riding in fields and I have done a bit of riding on small rocks around the beach.
  21. Hi I am 15 years old and last month I bought a Gas Gas TXT Pro 125, I am really enjoying riding and hoping to go to a trials event next year. I am obviously just an amateur rider and this is my first bike, I have already trapped my finger between the bike falling and me stupidly trying to catch it and trapping my finger between the handlebars and a metal pole. The nail is completely black and blue and will fall off in a few months, this knocked my confidences abit but I am determined to carry on riding my bike . I ride my bike usually every day, a friend of mine is going to buy a trials bike soon and he lives on a farm so we will have alot of land to play on. We will be riding through small woodland and over rocks and logs etc. I have been using a 50:1 mix ratio on my bike recently as some places say 80:1 and some say 50:1, so I figured it would be best to be on the safe side and use more oil. If anyone knows the correct ratio (its a 2003 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro) feel free to tell me . Thank you Glynn
